Obama Called ‘Skinny, Ghetto Crackhead’ On Fox News

A Fox News guest on Thursday said that “you might want to say” President Obama looks like “a skinny, ghetto crackhead.”

Brent Bozell, of the conservative Media Research Center, appeared on Fox Thursday night, where guest host Mark Steyn showed a clip of MSNBC’s Chris Matthews saying that Newt Gingrich “looks like a car bomber.”

Steyn said that aside from anything else, Newt doesn’t even look like a car bomber, but a “big, cuddly, slightly older Winnie the Pooh.”

“How long do you think Sean Hannity’s show would last if four times in one sentence, he made a comment about, say, the President of the United States, and said that he looked like a skinny, ghetto crackhead?” Bozell wondered. “Which, by the way, you might want to say that Barack Obama does.”

I might want to say that L. Brent Bozell III, esq. looks like Doctor Zaius. Which, by the way, he does.

amazingrace 5 pts

Yeah, but Newt is NOT the President and on top of that, he (Newt), has had NO respect for ANY

President that is a Democrat! Brent Bozell should skulk back to the hole he emerged from!

lillyhammer 9 pts

Every time I read the fabrications that the right wing noise machine comes up with against President Obama, it reminds me of one thing...This is all they have!!!!

And that makes me smile with real joy in my heart and pride in my President. Because if they had anything REAL, we would never stop hearing about it. So they keep making it up because President Obama really doesn't have a fatal flaw they can exploit.

whoostino 64 pts

All I get from this is that it bugs the hell out of them that a black man got in the White House, and that he looks well-positioned to do it again.

By 2017, even moderate Republicans will be openly saying racist shit daily.

megatronyc 67 pts

Look at this guy, with his KKK hood in his back pocket, had anyone said shit like this about Bush, they would have been called treasonous and thrown in jail, the double standard is a joke. Faux can go F+ck themselves.

bills8259 64 pts

The left used to mock Bush incessantly. Saying that Obama resembles a ghetto crackhead is no worse than saying Bush resembles a chimp, something I recall bloggers calling him all the time

ratatatat1 96 pts

bills8259 I agree that calling Bush a chimp was wrong. Can we agree that it is also wrong to call the current President a ‘Skinny, Ghetto Crackhead’?

mdfouru 885 pts

bills8259 You are demonstrating the standard right wing practice of trying to draw a false equivalency in order to justify their repugnant behavior.

First off, you are trying to equate random partisan "bloggers" with Brent Bozo. Few bloggers hold themselves out as serious journalists or, especially, as objective media critics or watch dogs. Brent Bozo, OTOH, does both. The fact is that no professional journalists in the so-called "liberal media" or even serious journalists who acknowledge their left leaning bias, ever called Bush a chimp.

Secondly, the resemblance of Bush to a chimp was more than superficial or racially derived.

whoostino 64 pts

bills8259

And there you have it: the typical conservative has no problem with throwing racial epithets at the president because bloggers used to call Bush a chimp.

Tears you guys up that Obama won.

mesealock1737 137 pts

bills8259 You can search the internet, the archives, and any other source that keeps records of "stuff said". You will not find one news organization, not one guest on a news organization, that sat in the public eye and called Bush names. But of course he was a republican. Only Democrats get called names on Fox. And that just goes to show the absolute lack of character any body on Fox has. They must have the biggest rock pile going, you know they one the host and guests crawled out from under.

I am a christian and the bible teaches to love everyone. Both commentators and cable news networks are guilty of hateful name calling and to me is not professional journalism

mesealock1737 137 pts

TimFromLA Good for you, watch out for thunderstorms, cause they say God has a swift and powerful sword. He certainly would want to use it on any body voting for the callous, common, racist, greedy, hate and violence urging republicans. That's not what a God OR any body would want. Whether they believed in God or not.

Well... as some here at TPM point out...

What with 698 comments thus far in this thread alone, it proves that clicks = m-o-n-e-y...

Take as an example, as I post this, there's a Google ad for a newsmax.com poll asking. "Would you support Newt Gingrich for president?"

I wonder how many on this Ship of Fools clicked it and voted.

Senate majority leader Harry Reid once said, Obama was electable because he was 'light-skinned' and had 'no Negro dialect.', was that racist? If it was democrats didn't have any problem in voting for him in 2010. Me thinks a stinky democrat double standard is going on here!

Maybe 2136 pts

dugfmjamul You genuinely think that "'light-skinned' and had 'no Negro dialect'" is equivalent to “a skinny, ghetto crackhead.” So it's all the same whether I call you and your kind "dodos" or "prattling gabblers, lickorous gluttons, freckled bittors, mangy rascals, shite-a-bed scoundrels, drunken roysters, sly knaves, drowsy loiterers, slapsauce fellows, slabberdegullion druggels, lubberly louts, cozening foxes, ruffian rogues, paltry customers, sycophant-varlets, drawlatch hoydens, flouting milksops, jeering companions, staring clowns, forlorn snakes, ninny loblocks, scurvy sneaksbies, fondling fops, base loons, saucy coxcombs, idle lusks, scoffing braggarts, noddy meacocks, blockish grutnols, dollipol-joltheads, jobbernol goosecaps, foolish loggerheads, flutch calf-lollies, grouthead gnat-snappers, lob-dotterels, gaping changelings, codshead loobies, woodcock slangams, ninnyhammer flycatchers, noddypeak simpletons, and turdy-guts."

@dugfmjamulMaybe -
I think dugfmjamul can't be insulted unless you refer to him or her as a person of color: red, yellow, brown or black - I'm not ignoring either green for its stupid ity nor yellow for its racial cowardice.
The comment by Reid in public, repeating a conversation that was a personal observation about Obama's acceptability to republican'ts isn't racist. The quip about dialect and skin was describing republican't and libertarian prejudice.
The racism is in the republican't attitude described by Biden.
The Bent Bozo is demonstrating why he is both bent and a bozo.

ratatatat1 96 pts

dugfmjamul You need to get your facts straight. Obama ran in 2008 - not 2010. It was indeed Harry Reid who said that, but he apologized publicly for it. I don't think Bozell has that much class.

dugfrmjamul 10 pts

ratatatat1dugfmjamul You are too stupid to post, I was speaking of Harry Reid moron.

ratatatat1 96 pts

dugfrmjamuldugfmjamul I never claimed you weren't talking about Harry Reid. Another poster thought it was Biden. Do try to keep up before calling people "too stupid to post" - especially since you are apparently "too stupid" to know the correct year when the last presidential election was held.

mesealock1737 137 pts

ratatatat1dugfmjamul Does any republican!!!!!

bookmanjb 7 pts

dugfmjamul Democrats had a HUGE problem with it; so much so that Reid had to publicly apologize and grovel. What's wrong with you wingnuts? One reason it's so hard to have a debate with you about anything is that first we have to waste so much time simply educating you.

Excuse me--this bigot researches media? Conservative guest or not, compared to the Newt remark attributed to Matthews, the blatant racial comment should be repudiated by Ailes or Rupert, and Steyn should never sub on Fox for letting the statement hang in the air unchallenged. And they bitch about the hacking like it was the worst. Elevating this bigotry to the level of "political discourse" is a far greater evil.

Did everyone forget the topic, Bozell just repeats the liberal talking points in comparative form. What if Gingrich becomes President and liberal hacks like mathews continues with the trash talking? The trouble liberals have is they watch biased wanna-be journalists like mathews and think they get the news, but only to get hype.

Re the initial implication by Bozo hell that Handupme's show wouldn't last if he kept saying seditious and hateful lies- that's what his show is based on! He starts by calling the President 'the Annointed One". Tell me how that shows respect and intellect. Hannity uses his brain to hold all the hateful spew he gets from his John Bircher 'researchers'. If he had an original, constructive, and positive thought, his head would explode.
