Disgraced Ex-Senator Ensign Now Treating Cats And Dogs

CNN caught up with disgraced former Republican Sen. John Ensign at his new gig as a veterinarian in Nevada.

Ensign is still facing possible federal charges related to the work he allegedly did helping a former aide who has been charged with breaking an anti-revolving door law by lobbying the office of his former boss.

Between treating cats and dogs, the former senator told CNN his work as a veterinarian has been good experience and that he’s been able to spend more time with his family.

“This has been really really good, first of all, to come back into a profession where you’re humbled. You know, I used to own this practice, now I’m working for somebody,” Ensign told CNN. “That’s sometimes a very healthy thing to have happen in life.”
