Secret Service Looks Into DNC Delegate Who Said She’d ‘Like To Kill’ Romney

Julia Rodriguez, a DNC delegate who said in a video interview with the Blaze that she would kill Mitt Romney if she saw him, should expect to be hearing from the Secret Service.

Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan confirmed to TPM on Thursday that the agency is aware of the video and is taking “appropriate follow-up measures.”

As part of that process, Secret Service personnel will try to determine Rodriquez’s intentions, as they did when they met with rocker Ted Nugent earlier this year.

In the video, Rodriguez said Romney “will destroy this country” and added that she would “like to kill him” if she ever saw him. The Secret Service’s involvement was first reported by the Daily Caller.

Rodriguez, who said on the video that she is from the Bronx, is listed as a delegate on the official Democratic website.

Since Romney picked up protection earlier this year, Secret Service agents have protected him from glitter bombs and had an agent accidentally leave a gun in the bathroom of his plane. The agency said yesterday they were investigating a claim that someone stole copies of Romney’s tax returns and would release them to the public unless the GOP nominee ponied up $1 million.
