The White House Lawyers Up

The Baltimore Sun reports:

President Bush is bracing for what could be an onslaught of investigations by the new Democratic-led Congress by hiring lawyers to fill key White House posts and preparing to play defense on countless document requests and possible subpoenas.

Bush is moving quickly to fill vacancies within his stable of lawyers, though White House officials say there are no plans to drastically expand the legal staff to deal with a flood of oversight. . . .

in the days after the elections, the White House announced that Bush had hired two replacements to plug holes in his counsel's office, including one lawyer, Christopher G. Oprison, who is a specialist in handling white-collar investigations. A third hire was securities law specialist Paul R. Eckert, whose duties include dealing with the Office of the Special Counsel. Bush is in the process of hiring a fourth associate counsel, said Emily A. Lawrimore, a White House spokeswoman.

The Sun quotes Lawrimore saying "it's nothing special." But my favorite quote, particularly in light of this and this and this -- is:

"They just think it's inevitable that there will be some investigations that will tie up some time and attention," said Charles Black, a strategist with close ties to the White House. But there's no panic in the ranks of Bush's team, he added. "They don't think they have anything to hide."

Rather, they don't think they have anything they can't hide.

I want Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and Rove's heads on sticks. Finally, maybe we'll get some Congressional oversight and maybe, just maybe some of these criminals will get soom jail-time. I'd even settle for their activities being exposed to the light of day for history's sake.

If there is one thing that I agree with bush and his ilk with it’s this: we’re running out of resources fast. Like it or not we are in the first stages of what’s going to be a major clash of civilizations around the world for control of those resources. And those that control the most will have the most to lose and meet with unmerciful and brutal force any that oppose them.

The dynasties, royal, industrial, political, and wealthy, often overlapping, that have controlled civilizations for hundreds, if not thousands, of years are trying to hold onto that control against the uprising that comes from the people they enslave.

Can you blame them? If you were a Rothschild, Krupp, Morgan, Roosevelt, or any of the say 20 odd dynasties that control 90% of the wealth, and most likely won’t be happy till they get 99%. Their dream of a “one world government” is almost, if not already here.

SO, here’s the crime – time. We’re out of it. And even if bush and his farce of followers of fools hadn’t wasted so much time, we still would have been way beyond the point of no return. The dwindling of just basic resources like water and food, forget going to see a movie, will soon, even in the richest of countries will be scare. America will suffer the most. Cities and suburbs will turn into war zones. Bush and his ilk know this. Forget the “rapture”. That’s just more theater for the folly. They want control. They will be that 1% behind the walls protected.

Or so they think. The 1% that will survive, if even possible in the damaged world we’ve produced, will be the tribes.

Hey, maybe that’s why bush bought land in Paraguay?

FWIW, I don't want to see Bush & Co. impeached... I'd much rather see them indicted!

Who will have to PAY to defend BushCo?
Duh, WE WILL!
So every time they are investgated or indicted the taxpayer gets a bill.. WTF?
Hell that happens all the time!
You can't swing a dead cat in DC without hitting a corrupt politician.
This system annoys me about as much paying the salary or pension of one of these poster boys of corruption.
They betray the oath of office and the citizens they are supposed to protect and still get a paycheck. System of checks and balances my ass..
