PUBLIC IRAQ NIE!
That was quick. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence just announced that an unclassified version of the Iraq National Intelligence Estimate's key judgments will be released tomorrow at 12:30. Expect a grim report, as the NIE is titled, "Prospects for Iraq’s Stability: A Challenging Road Ahead," but as we learned in 2002, there can be a huge difference in tone and substance between the classified and declassified versions -- as well as the key judgments and the actual body of the NIE. More on all this tomorrow.

What's that Cathie Martin? Why do you release things on a Friday afternoon?
Oh, right. So no one reads about them, since no one reads the Saturday paper b/c they are busy living their lives. Too bad. Sounds like it will be interesting. Maybe the papers should devote two days of coverage to such important issues, ensuring that they get prominent Sunday coverage as well. Just a thought. Every little bit helps.

The Bush Administration, and, in particular, the OVP fall into this category of perverts.
They have lied so egregiously and pointlessly about Intel matters, for instance, that the initial reaction to request for facts is ALWAYS met with a 'NO', initially.
They have lied so regularly about the political and military failures in Iraq, that they now lie about the number of troops involved in the so-called 'surge'....even though stating the truth originally would have made no real difference in Amercan public non-support for the maneuver.
And, now, it is very probable that the American public is going to be Lied to AGAIN to invent a stage for even more disaster in Iran. And, in this case, it MIGHT actually make a difference with the American public if they would simply place their real agenda on the table.
So...what the h... is our new Democratic majority gonna do about it?
Mrs Panstreppon wrote on February 1, 2007 8:18 PM:O.T. but anyone know for sure that the Iraqi guards at Karbala speak or even understand English? I ask because such a big deal is being made about the ambush being sophisticated and the "fact" that the attackers spoke English is given as support.
Did anyone besides the Iraqi guards hear the attackers speak English?
