Army Times: Walter Reed Patients Told to Keep Quiet
From The Army Times:
Soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center’s Medical Hold Unit say they have been told they will wake up at 6 a.m. every morning and have their rooms ready for inspection at 7 a.m., and that they must not speak to the media.“Some soldiers believe this is a form of punishment for the trouble soldiers caused by talking to the media,” one Medical Hold Unit soldier said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

The public just wouldn't understand. They are damaged goods in the war. They screwed up and got wounded, some way too much to put back in battle. Even Blackwater couldn't turn a profit on some.
Why would Bush spend precious war dollars on these guys?
Keep talking guys, take pictures. It's the only way you will get things fixed. Memorize those reporters phone numbers. Keep in touch.

this is the medical center Commander's job. He or she isnt a doctor, but an Army Colonel or General. and even that person has a lower officer responsible for facilities, and another for patient care, and another for administration. if his facility is jacked, then he needs to fix it. It is the commanders embarrassment.
mbbsdphil is wrong: solve the problem, solve the problem. but you mistake it for a cover up.

The President is Commander in Chief as he likes to remind us on an almost daily basis. Often when he thinks that woman Pelosi might cut off his war funding or insist on oversight. What could a Democrat know about national Security? She never served in the Armed Services.
I'm sure there are equal excuses for others such as Sen Jim Webb.
Anything but just accept responsibility. And, admit he failed to provide for wounded warriors.
And, I have recieved quite an eye-opener the last three years on how the US Army treats it's disabled veterans.
Feel free to check out the 'My Story' page of MakeTheArmyHonest.Com. It's my fiancee's site. He has the distinction of being made disabled TWICE by the US Army. Once in uniform and once as a civilian that went back to try to help with this war. Private health insurance and Medicare are treating his wounds. The US Army walked away with not a care in the world.
The Patriot Act Appointee US Attorney for Alaska, Nelson Cohen refuses to investigate Civil Rights violation on a 100% service connected disabled veteran by the US Army. I guess Bush isn't responsible for the US Attorney's either, huh?
For a guy who claims to be the Great Decider he is acutally looking a lot these days like the Wizard behind the curtain in OZ. Anything but Presidential.
