My favorite was the guy who was returning items that he didn't buy to stores for 'refunds.' It seems these rats just can't help themselves: They lie, cheat and steal naming him to higher and higher appointments. Lest anyone think there's not much going on because there's only one "conviction" - it's the guilty pleas you should be looking at. That's a sign the prosectors have done their jobs well. Convictions come about when they think they might actually get off. Guilty pleas come out when they've been caught red-handed and they know it.

And for those who learned about prosecutors in the age of the Ken Starr Chamber, the prosecutors in these cases, much like Patrick Fitzgerald, have been quiet. A good prosecutor speaks out when there has been a guilty plea, a conviction, or an unconscionable miscarriage of justice. And otherwise, seldom.

Guilty pleas speak louder than anything - when there is a functioning process of justice and no torture.
