Flynt: Vitter Used Escort Service in 2001
During a press conference this afternoon, Hustler publisher Larry Flynt released the phone record that led to Sen. David Vitter's (R-LA) admission that he'd been a customer of Pamela Martin & Associates, the escort service run by Deborah Jeane Palfrey, otherwise known as the D.C. Madam.
Flynt's investigator, Dan Moldea, matched the D.C. number -- which appeared February 27, 2001 for a 1.2 minute conversation on Palfrey's records -- to Vitter last Friday. Hustler called Vitter's office for comment on Monday afternoon; Vitter then released his statement to the AP admitting to using the service Monday night. Vitter was a member of the House at the time.
During his conference, Flynt said that he'd outed Vitter -- and would be outing others, because of his hypocrisy; or as he put it: "I'm not exposing anyone's sex life, I'm only exposing hypocrisy."
Flynt took out a full-page ad in The Washington Post in June, offering $1 million for "documented evidence of illicit sexual or intimate relations with a Congressperson, Senator or other prominent officeholder." He said that Hustler had a number of investigations still going as a result, and that he'd be releasing the data "as we have it."

I am very sad for his family. How could he do this with four children at home? This guy is a total piece of shit.
Someone should tell him about masturbation. Obviously he missed that stage. If the wife is unwilling, Rosy is not.

State House Rep. Arrested
Titusville police say they have arrested Florida State Rep. Robert
"Bob" Allen, of Merrit Island, on second degree misdemeanor charges
for soliciation for prostiution.
Allen, 48, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at Veteran's Memorial Park
on East Broad St. in Titusville.
The park was under surveillance by a detail of undercover police
officers.
Officers say they noticed Allen acting suspicious as he went in and
out of the men's restroom 3 times.
Minutes later, he solicited an undercover male officer inside the
restroom, offering to perform oral sex for $20.
Officers realized he was a public figure after the arrest.
Allen, a Republican, represents District 32 of the State House of
Representatives.
The district spans parts of Brevard and Orange counties.
Allen was first elected to the office in 2000.

This should read "On Monday night, Vitter then released his statement to the AP admitting to using the service." Otherwise, it would appear (however delightfully) that V used the service on Monday.

Wouldn't you agree - they need to add something under "recreational interests" for Rep Bob Allen?
Either that - or "water sports" refers to his "restroom activities."

Every state rep in Brevard County is Republican and has been for quite some time. Even the old Democrats in office jumped ship to the dark (Republican) side so that they could remain in office. Just a bunch of whores in my opinion.
It’s sad to state that the majority of the voting public in Brevard County looks for the “R” next to a name to cast their ballot. Who the person is or what the person does is not important.
How long will it take for everyone in Brevard County to understand that they are being screwed by the Republicans representing them?
Republican is the new Dirty Word.

And thanks, TheraP, for info on "Bob" Allen of FL. Wonder how he got the name "Bob"???

Louisiana would have forgiven him his sex-capades, but when a Senator strays into the fetish category, Louisiana don't play that. $10 says the diapers do him in, and he resigns.

Is it time to create a BONER award for the players as we near the impending implosion of the Republican Party?

Boy, did Bob ever blow it.

Hustler publisher Larry Flynt said Wednesday that investigators working for the magazine are involved in more than 20 investigations relating to his recent call for information on Washington sex scandals.
The investigations include "high ranking Republican and Democrat members of the Senate and the House," Flynt said at a press conference in Los Angeles, in which RAW STORY participated via conference call.
"We've got some really good information here," he said.

In addition to committing a sin, as he puts it, didn't he commit a crime, a buncha times? He probably expects Jesus to forgive the sin, since belief is all it takes to have your sins washed away. And Scooter shows that the right friends can have your crimes washed away, too.
CL- Oregon Girl wrote on July 11, 2007 10:06 PM:Vitter's hypocrisy is just another case of Republcan exceptionalism. When they're involved in a scandal, things aren't so black-and-white, not so simple. Like when W was asked about his failed business Harken Oil, he said it wasn't so simple, that there were shades of gray. "In the corporate world," Bush said, "sometimes things aren't exactly black and white when it comes to accounting procedures."
You go Larry. Keep 'em coming. There have to be plenty more. I am sorry for Vitter's family, but I can't say I'm sorry for Vitter.
I guess we have to remove these slime by scraping them out, one by one.

Josh Marshall astutely suggests that the McCain campaign is trying to "up the ante" on Rudy for appointing people about to implode to key positions.
Although insightful, I beg to differ. I read on Salon that the McCain campaign has burned through $22 million in six months and only has $2 million left in the bank.
I think Bob Allen was just trying to take fund raising into his own hands - or maybe mouth...
He's collecting donations, $20 and a mouthful at a time.
