Stevens' Popularity Sinks To New Low

I'll bet he hopes the grand jury has a better opinion of him.

A new poll shows that only 44% of Anchorage voters have a positive attitude about Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK).

That's quite a dip for Stevens, according to pollster Ivan Moore, who said that between September 2005 and April 2007 the senator's popularity rating ranged between 58 percent and 63 percent.

Stevens isn't too concerned:

"Moore is an opinion-making pollster, not an opinion-taking pollster," Stevens told the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner.

Senator Stevens has brushed off the inevitable. His stock among voters, like the GOP in general, is sinking because he, Stevens, has defended the indefensible. Times have changed and change will be served. The old will go out, as Senator Stevens, and the young will replace old ways and hide bound conservatism. Goodbye, Senator Stevens, it's time!

Anybody know the status of the Great Senator Stevens Bridge to Nowhere?

If it exists, he's on it!

Perhaps instead of pushing for a bridge to nowhere, he would have been better off getting funding for a new VIP Prison. Of course, that too might end up falling under the rules against using public funds for one's own benefit. Wouldn't that be ironic...

Using the Fairbanks News Miner the newspaper that uses Rich Lowery opinion pieces about 3 times a week on average,is a laugh! If you want to get close to an objective news article you had best refer to the Anchorage Daily News.
Don't count "Uncle Ted" out he has been bamboozling the state's voters for years with his delivery of millions of dollars of Federal Funding of projects and still uses that method today to keep the population acquiescent voter base.

When is he up for re-election? What's Bush's numbers in Alaska?
Why do 44% still approve?
