Young Knows The Way To Your Heart
Rep. Don Young (R-AK) reached out to his constituents yesterday day via a salmon bake where hundreds of Anchorage residents lined up for free food. A few dozen protesters gathered at the event.
Thanks to reader Dennis Zaki of AlaskaReport.com for sending us some photos of the event.
All the while, a small but loud cluster of protesters chanted slogans at Young from a few feet away. Young, standing in front of watermelon slices and hamburger plates, ignored some of the taunts and danced along with others."FBI! FBI!" the protesters yelled.
Young smiled and did a little dance, shaking his hips and pumping his arms. "They'll never get the best of me," he said at one point to a supporter who was making his way through the line.
One of the grills, fittingly enough, was brandished with the Veco logo. Young is under criminal federal investigation for his ties to the oil services company, whose former CEO Bill Allen pleaded guilty to federal bribery and conspiracy charges this spring. Last week Young held his annual pig roast fundraiser, which Allen usually hosts, but was put on by former Gov. Bill Sheffield instead.
Young attended the salmon bake, but didn't give a press conference or a speech.
Reporters stood among the supporters and protesters, shouting questions:Congressman Young, what do you think of all this?
"I love it! I love America!" Young replied.
Congressman Young, have you done anything wrong?
"The Lord is with me," he said.

If that is true and each agents makes $100,000 a year that means taxpayers are paying $18,000,000 just in salaries to investigate Ted & Don.

Arrogance, stupidity, and corruption.
The indictment tri-fecta.

People do and then think they can do anything after they walk out the door and they've got their arse covered, morally. We have a loser.
I was a protester at the salmon bake and the pig roast last week. I must say having to stand in line 2 hours in the alaska heat hungry sure does make people crazy! Don Young supporters threw food, beverages and vicicious remarks at protesters and a few teenagers jacked up on free Mountain Dew shoved and hit protesters on the head with signs. All in all a great day.

On KTUU's 10:00 news last night, some clueless woman was complaining about how the chanting of the protesters got her kids upset and how they should be "ashamed of themselves" for exercising their First Amendment right to free speech.
Don better get used to it. I wouldn't be surprised if he had neighbors protesting his presence in Fort Yukon.
Code word "nail" as in what the FBI is hammering into Dumb's political coffin.

Tell an average Alaskan about his rewriting the spending bill with the "coconut road earmark" after the bill was passed and their eyes just glaze over, they have NO Idea how wrong that was, all they can think of is how Alaska gets all that money from the treasury. It is sad but when you don't even have a million people living in the state people know that they would have paid a lot of their income to finance the infrastructure that currently exists in the state. So what if the state has 35 Billion plus in its permanent fund.

It seemed like so much anger from both sides and we are were not eating king salmon.
Before I did not draw any lines in the sand. I was neutral in my political opinions.
I stood there and watched in amazement of the rage expressed by both sides. There was lots of rage. People in Alaska expressed huge amounts of rage at the Dom's salmon bake. It was all about rage. Rage, rage, rage, rage, rage. If one wasn't ranting about the Doms' actions thru thier own rage, one was noting the rage others did rant.
Then there was the Dom. Soaking it all in. It was like he liked the attention. He held out his arms and thanked everyone. Thats it. Nothing else.
I realized we got to change up here. I looked at the line waiting for some salmon (it was hundreds of people long the entire time). About every 30 or 40 people, there was a very nicely dressed couple. Always a couple. Never two of the same sex couple, but a couple indeed. A couple with money. You could tell, even if they were'nt standing in the Dom's salmom bake event. They were so out of place and uncomfortable. Most of them didn't wait in line for very long.
The lady who told me I had no right to protest was really sick. I told her I was here to watch. She told me I was sick and to take a stand. "Fight !" she yelled and lifted her fist. I began to feel sorry for the Dom. He may like to soak up raging energy, but he also has supporters that believe other's they have no right to protest.
It was all about rage. A rage, that after 30's, we Alaskans had wanted to express. Ya see, this salmon bake was the first the Dom has held. He usually doesn't meet with the general public on general terms. He only holds fundraisers up here. No debates or public forum opportunties from the Dom. We elect him every single time.
So now he hold his first general meet and greet over salmon and its lots and lots of rage. The Dom doesn't say a too much. He was serving people. He praised the lord. He snuck off with out going to the mic to say a few words.
I makes me sick.

It certainly shows the alternative reality that exists outside of the Anchorage area when it concerns press coverage of the congressman. The best line was (paraphrasing here) there weren't any protesters at this Salmon Bake, the article is a real hoot!
