WSJ: New Charges Imminent against Hsu
Things are going to get a lot worse for Norman Hsu before they get better. From The Wall Street Journal (sub. req.):
Federal officials are expected to bring a criminal case against Norman Hsu today, charging the Democratic super-donor with operating a $60 million pyramid scheme and violating campaign-finance laws. The case, to be announced this afternoon by the U.S. attorney's office in the Southern District of New York, encompasses complaints by investors who gave tens of millions of dollars to Mr. Hsu, who said he was putting the money into a lucrative apparel operation. It also is expected to charge Mr. Hsu with crimes relating to his legendary fund-raising.
Update: The AP reports the prosecutors will announce an indictment at 1 PM.
Later Update: Oops. The AP now says that it won't be an indictment, but a criminal complaint.

The article is ACTUALLY about a foreign national scamming people out of their money, then funneling those millions into politicians pockets. Do you oppose prosecuting a criminal because Hillary had to give her $850,000 in criminal proceeds back? Or is it because so many Dems profited from the crime, KNEW the money came from a crook, but took it happily anyway? I'm sure if this pertained to Republicans this would be a welcome and long over due dose of justice that exposures the foul and corrupt nature of the RNC. You say "zealously", is only over reaching when tentacles of a crime reaches the DNC, then the law is suddenly wrong?
Should the feds abandon this "zealous" prosecution because you don't like the laws or because it looks too much like an Abramoff scandle for the DNC? LouLou, if the Hsu fits...
if Hsu were a Republican fund-raiser, there would be no money to investigate him....like the non-investigation of Abramnoff?

Don't these people every learn? I don't care how big a campaign staff is, there is always someone in finance who is assigned the job of "vetting" donors and checks. This did not happen by accident. It disgusts me.
I am a lifelong Dem. but I am not voting for her under any circumstances. This is Bush lite--her health care plan is designed to help the insurance companies and their lobbyists.
I will continue to support Kucinich and Obama, because they are not tainted with this war and I like what I hear from them. We need a change...and the Clinton's are not change. I don't want to have to hold my breath for the next 4 years waiting for them to do something stupid.
I think Dennis Kucinich has one of the best platforms and messages--sadly, he won't get any place.

Maybe. MAYBE NOT! I am not inclined to accept your word, or the WSJ's word ( i.e., Rupert Murdoch, the owner, and Ted Olson, WSJ Board Member) on that. Given the track record of this Justice Department, I (and a lot of other potential jurors) have reason to suspect the word of their prosecutors too.
loopieLou wrote on September 20, 2007 6:21 PM:accept what? that he has been wanted for years as a scam artist, that hillary finally decided to give the money up along with a number of dems, or that he's a foreign national?
Non investagation of Abramoff. Plead guilty in jan 06 to defrauding American Indian tribes and corruption of public officials. Mar 29 06 sentenced to 5yrs 10 months and restition of 21 million. Testifies in realted investigations..and so on and on...
