Rove Aide Heads for The Exits
Another day, another resignation.
This time, it's Scott Jennings, who worked under Karl Rove in the White House.
Jennings, among other things, was a frequent contact concerning the U.S. attorney firings for Justice Department aides Kyle Sampson and Monica Goodling in the White House. The other Rove aide involved in the firings, Sara Taylor, left the White House earlier this year. When he was subpoenaed to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee, he refused to discuss the firings (or even discuss his role in appointing U.S. attorneys in general), citing executive privilege.
But we'll remember Jennings most of all for his remarkably effective parroting of the White House talking points about the political briefings Jennings gave at various department and agencies. Jennings, remember, gave the most infamous of those briefings, at the General Services Administration. After Jennings had finished his rundown of which GOP candidates were in trouble of losing reelection, GSA chief Lurita Doan asked aloud how GSA projects could be used to help "our candidates." Jennings reportedly replied that the top would be better discussed "off-line."
So in appreciation for Jennings' service, here's last months' TPMtv episode on the subject, complete with Jennings' and Taylor's mind-wracking message discipline:

SeeDee wrote on October 4, 2007 5:57 PM:Watching the performances of Bush administration operatives as the 'congressional investigations' begin to reveal the entire stinking situation engineered by Rove, Cheney, et al., is comparable to an out-doorsman and companions who happen on a nest of skunks that have encroached on the hen-house and are just emerging from their semi-dormancy in early spring.
They still act as though they think they possess enough 'odor' to repel any 'investigator' that gets too close; they still seem to not know that the 'landscape' has changed since they went into their hibernation months ago.
And, BTW, the 'out-doorsmen' seem afraid of getting 'sprayed' if they act forcefully to evict and or eliminate the pests.

Or perhaps she does, and this is just an appallingly bad attempt to pretend that 'there's nothing to see here' and that we should all just 'move along'. Her indignation about actually being asked such questions was kind of alarming.

Hey ColoradoDem, Perino covered her a**. Notice she always said political briefings to "political appointees?" Of course that would be legal. What Perino didn't say is that political briefings to non appointed employees were also given and that is illegal.
So Perino was doing her job spinning the truth for the crooked administration for which she speaks.

I have lots of questions about the questions they don`t ask.
I don't believe any of this.
I know that the people in the Bush Administration are liars - and because I know that, I don't believe what I see and hear.
Karl Rove is a perfect example of what I'm talking about.
I don't believe that he "really" left his job. I believe that he has merely moved to Texas to make it appear that way.
He is still fully operational; he just does his job from his computer at home.
Nothing has changed at all. They've just created the illusion of change.
They're all slimebags and liars - every fucking one of them.

NO REPUBLICAN GIVES A SHIT IF IT WAS RIGHT OR WRONG, JUST THAT THEY GET AWAY WITH IT. IF YOU EXPECT SOME REPUBLICANS TO BE SHOCKED OR OUTRAGED OR VIEW THIS AS ANYTHING BUT A WASTE OF THEIR TIME, YOU ARE SADLY MISTAKEN. THEY GOT THE TAXPAYERS TO FOOT THE BILL FOR THEIR CAMPAIGNING AND TRIED TO MAKE ALL THE FEDERAL AGENCIES SUPPORT THEIR AGENDA AS A WAY TO KEEP THEIR JOBS AND BENEFITS. IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING THAT YOU MUST BE SELF CENTERED, DISHONEST AND CONDESCENDING TO EVEN BE A REPUBLICAN.

"I don't recall" and the "how dare you ask that question" 'righteous indignation' of spokesmodels are the hallmark communications of w's WH.
These folks believe they are 'just doing their jobs' and being obedient to their RNC bosses but they are blind to the depravity they promote.
This pervasive RNC/GOP deceit places party loyalty above the general welfare of the US and their own individual responsibility. (Reference the Milgram and the Zimbardo experiments.) These RNC goons are in so deep they cannot be expected to stop themselves. As they offer no diplomacy, no diplomacy offered to them will be successful.
GOP spokesmodels and operatives are now cyranoids whose words do not originate from their own nervous system. They have let themselves become perpetrators of RNC/GOP violence and abusers of 'we the people' by politicizing our government and continuing to perpetrate the unjust and illegal actions of w's desultory presidency.

And in saving themselves Chris Shays , Tom Davis & Norm Coleman will have to through many ,many of the BushCo miscreants under the Congressional Oversight "bus" . I still believe Turdblossom will be indicted for obstruction of justice - from any number of cases-the most prominent one being the Siegelmann Case.
Or all the moderate Republicans could still drink the Reverend Jones/ NeoCon kool aid & the Democrats will "kick butt & take names " in 2008.
But in any event I also reluctantly conclude we might better have more assertive candidates run against Madam Speaker & Lil Steny Hoyer in our primaries - We do need better & more assertive leadership.
The neo swines are bullies- And we need to be in their faces always -
