Anti-Muslim Movie Shown On 'Continuous Loop' By NYPD

An anti-Muslim movie was screened to New York Police Department personnel "on a continuous loop" for between three months and one year of training, according to NYPD documents obtained by the Brennan Center for Justice.

An NYPD spokesman said last year that the Clarion Fund's "The Third Jihad," a film which features an Islamic flag flying over the White House, was screened "a couple of times when officers were filling out paperwork before the actual coursework began" and characterized it as a "wacky film."

A still from "The Third Jihad"

The New York Police Department has used a movie that portrays Muslim-Americans as jihadis hell-bent on destroying the United States from within in its counter-terrorism training for officers.

Clues Emerge About Who Funded The Anti-Islam DVD Sent To Swing-State Voters In '08

The cover of "Obsession," which was sent to 28 million voters in 2008.

At the height of the pre-election Islamophobia hysteria centered around the "Ground Zero mosque"/Islamic interfaith community center, we told you about how an anti-Islam DVD that was sent to 28 million swing-state voters in 2008 was still helping to fuel that hysteria.

We also told you that making and sending all those DVDs cost the Clarion Fund, which made the movie, about $16 million -- all funded by one single, anonymous donor.

We still don't know for sure who that donor is and, because of IRS laws protecting the names of nonprofit donors, maybe we never will.

'This Is The Final Struggle:' Newt Gingrich Sells A Movie About The Islamic Threat To America

Citizens United trailer for "America At Risk: The War With No Name"

In a straight-to-DVD movie that will premiere tomorrow night in D.C., Newt Gingrich and Citizens United warn Americans of the impending threat of radical Islam. As one of their talking heads says in the trailer, "This is the end of times. This is the final struggle."

The movie, called "America At Risk," paints the world as a dangerous place filled with radicalized Muslims who want to -- and, importantly, can -- destroy America.

"The war on terror, and the ideology behind it, have only just begun," Gingrich's wife, Callista Gingrich, intones while she and Gingrich stand in front of a green-screened New York skyline.

How 30 Million DVDs Sent In 2008 Election Fuel The Anti-Mosque Debate Today

A still from "The Third Jihad"

In the last weeks before the 2008 elections, an organization called the Clarion Fund spent some $16 million to reprint and distribute 28 million copies of their 2005 film about radical Islam and terrorist groups. "Obsession" was inserted into newspapers -- and packaged with scary photos of scarf-clad men -- in swing states.

That move, funded by a single anonymous donor, may still be echoing in 2010's protests about the Cordoba House and other mosques around the country.

Iran Film Planned By Group That Made Splash With Right-Wing DVD On Islam

A screenshot of the Clarion Fund's Web site

Just in time for the campaign season, the right-wing Clarion Fund, which shipped out 28 million DVDs to swing state voters in 2008 warning of the threat of radical Islam, has announced it's working on a new film, this one on "the Iranian Nuclear threat."

In a little-noticed press release this week, the Clarion Fund, which was behind Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against The West, said the new film will "document the development of the Iranian nuclear program, the threats posed by such a program, and the West's inability to recognize the true nature of an extremist Islamic Revolutionary regime ..."
