Kris Kobach: We Don't Know If Voter Fraud Was A Problem Yet

Kris Kobach, the Secretary of State-elect in Kansas who ran on a platform of ending supposedly endemic voter fraud in Kansas, told TPM that it wasn't yet clear if voter fraud was an issue in the election.

Speaking with TPM after a panel on civil rights at the Federalist Society's National Lawyers Convention on Thursday, Kobach said he would have to wait until all the reports came in.

Group That May Bring Health-Care Lawsuit Is Backed By Big-Name Conservative Funders

A conservative think tank that's funded by several prominent backers of right-wing causes may bring a lawsuit over health-care reform on behalf of the governor of Arizona.

The Goldwater Institute has offered to bring the suit for free, and Gov. Jan Brewer is considering the offer, a spokeswoman for the institute told TPMmuckraker.

There's nothing wrong with an organization using stock photos in its promotional pictures. After all, that's why they're produced.

Still, it's kind of funny to note that the new Tea-Party-inspired advocacy group launched by Virginia Thomas -- the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas -- uses stock photos to convey the impression of minority support for its conservative goals.

As the Los Angeles Times reported over the weekend, Virginia Thomas recently created Liberty Central, a new lobbying group that seeks to tap into the grassroots energy unleashed by the Tea Party movement.
