Mike Wooten

Walt Monegan claims that Trooper-Gate started when he refused to fire Mike Wooten, a state trooper and the ex-husband of Sarah Palin's sister. The divorce was, by all accounts, a messy affair. Palin has accused the trooper of tasering her nephew and threatening her father's life. The 13 accusations made by the Palin's against Wooten were investigated internally by the state troopers, who found him only guilty of violating four incidents where Wooten broke policy, the law, or both. He was reprimanded and suspended 10 days, which was later reduced to 5 days.

As of mid-September, Wooten had not been contacted for the legislature's Trooper-Gate probe.
