(What's the deal with that name? What do log cabins have to do with being gay or Republican? Is it a Lincoln allusion?)

Maybe it's a thinly veiled allusion to their love of the rectum. It seems that Mr. Barclay was fond of spending time in "The Log Cabin." I can't stop laughing. "Log Cabin Republicans", it all makes so much sense now.
