  • What McCain is doing is so high school. Clinton did the same thing by saying something to the effect by saying [paraphrasing] 'I take him on his word that he is a Christian'. Thus far the only high school moment I have caught Obama on is his comment "you are likeable enough Hillary" (I laughed!)

It is all ugly, but it is worse a large electorate believes this is all it takes to be informed.

  • This story has tarnished the reputation of the entire military to their troops and to the world by doing what they did.

Other than NCO's (who have your back) one has to wonder if you can trust any Officer.

  • I wonder if this isn't just the beginning for Democrats and rogue Republicans alike. How can anyone not think to themselves that maybe the "listening in" by the NSA isn't the proximate cause of the investigation?
    I know...I know....I'm jaded!

  • Why is it that Karl Rove is on TV today even denying this? Of course it is FOX, but Rove doesn't go on TV everyday.
This story has more legs than he can chop off.

  • I agree, there is a nexus between arrogance and ignorance. It is equally true to say that while arrogance encourages ignorance, ignorance allows for arrogance. The US has a combination of both and while this is an undeveloped thought, I would speculate that each needs the other.
I had what I thought (at the time) was a unique experience when, in reply to an American assertion that it was the greatest country in the world I asked why? After giving a couple quips on 'freedom' (et al) and my reply that other countries have similar freedoms; frustration seemed to set in. Ultimately the answer was (a direct quote) "if it wasn't why does everyone want to live here!?!" I was at a loss for words.

Of course not all the US citizenry is ignorant or arrogant(TPM demonstrates that clearly) but what I thought was a rather unique turned out no to be so unique. There is a strong need to believe, and a strong directive from this administration to believe.

  • It is not considered impeachment in other governments. It is merely a "no confidence vote" and it happens.

Americans seem to think this (question of impeachment) is a sign of death to the country if it happens.

Is it arrogance that your country MUST believe you are better or fear that you are not? Is there any situation that Americans would consider impeachment?

I am astounded that what you say you believe in free speach, association, right to own property etc) can be so ignored to protect one man and expel ghosts.
