I think this is just one of those changes in reality that is meant to keep us off balance. IE; Instead of maintaining that we as a people are against torture, this is the kind of torture that we are against. Get it?

I do not find it curious that some are attacking Gen. Sanchez. This is the era of denigration. But when talking of Kerik, let's explore something else other than his penchant for whores.
I seem to remember a recent article connecting one of the alphabet soup companies with prostitution and the sex trade. Have I got my tinfoil hat on or is it quite possible that Kerik was muscle for that company? Was He there to clean out the competition?
Knowing what there is to know about Kerik and just what sort of prics these govt contractors can be; I just think that Kerik was in Iraq for a purpose. That was not to train the police.

Hey OregonActivist
I take umbrage at your assessement that the 25% that voted to keep those racist roots in this States' Constitution did so, because we were/are racist. I believe that keeping those ugly ideas out front and center can show just how far back and ingrained these attitudes flow, towards all minorities. Now we have a clean document that belies the truth that the precursors were racist or at the least, put aside their convictions and approved the original slave language.
This is part of the dialogue that should be going on. That is at least as far back that the real form of racism, that Rev. Wright railed against, has exsisted.
Oregon came into the union as a free state, but in order to be admitted at all "it" conceded those issues to the Federal government. But I believe that it wasn't just a "made us do it" attitude that put that language and phrasing in the orginal document. There were portions of the constitution that disallowed a Free Negro from owning property and allowed a Free Negro to be held until status was confrimed.
No, when I voted to keep all of that in the states constitution I cast that vote so all might see and know where we come from and that just to hide the ugly path we are on is no way to acknowledge the past and what the problem is.

Has anyone mentioned how well the NRCC did at defeating Foster in his run for Denny Jabba the Hastert's seat? Cole is an idiot. Were you drinking sterno when you put that together?

All in all, I thought it was a pretty good speech. It gave lie to the statements that he, Obama, speaks only in flowery prose with no tangible policy. While I would prefer him to have said that the Wall Street jerk-offs should be publicly humiliated and beaten with any availible elephant leg umbrella stand. He did offer some salient points to be taken and implemented. Maybe, by the time that those things that he spoke of come to pass, the ecnonomy will have tanked so bad that there is no recourse other than an overhual of the financial system.
Reguarding this spoiled child attitude of holding ones breath if you do not get your way. AKA; I will never vote for Obama or I'll vote for McCain instead. Do not tell me that you are a Democrat or even an American. Voting is not only a fundamental right. It is a duty of demand. Do not waste my time or clog up the ether with your views and then tell us that you will not become involved with the future of this nation.

Hey, the man is a dink. We all know that. I pay so little attention to him that I do not even know what his response to Reverand Hagee's "whore of babylon" critique of the holy roman catholic church. Jeez I'll bet it was scathing and unequivocal. It was in a catholic seminary that Mr holier than thou sought refuge during the Viet Nam draft days.
The truth is that his morals just like his outrage and indignity are for sale He is living proof that the good die young.
