As we have all read, Palin hasn't taken any strong public positions on Iraq and Afganistan other than her comments about God's role in the whole thing; so it will stand as a sharp contrast when suddenly she starts giving...more »

  • Argument for the Obama Campaign on Palin

John McCain's obviously political choice of Sarah Palin for VP shows that fits right in with Carl Rove's "politics of division".  The entire choice here was based on the political idea that the GOP can find an issue and in...more »

  • I was stuck by that moment on Wednesday night as well, when she specifically said that parents of children with disabilities would have a friend in the White House. I kept thinking and that would results in something tangible ...how?

  • It's basically a slide show with as many lame GOP base phrases spoken on top of it. It might have softened her up a little before the speech but probably not much outside of the GOP evangelical base!

  • but you are confusing group focused on their faith with a group focused on using power as a way to spread their faith. They have to obtain and keep power though first so they will do whatever is necessary to do first and foremost.

Posted at September 4, 2008 10:39 AM in response to Sarah Palin called herself the B-word

  • Plus she can't say "nuclear" correctly, they had to spell it out as new-clear in her text so she would say it right.

She botched it last Friday and sounded worse than Bush trying to say it; so they didn't take any chances that she would botch a pretty important word like that again.

  • Good post and I'd add that Biden & Obama should continue to sit back and appear measured and controlled as they do while McCain & Palin look like angry rabid dogs... "snark, snark, snark"!

  • I was thinking last night during some of her high praise for McCain's character... "how would you know, you just met him a few days ago"?

Empty empty speech, let's not take the bait and roll in the mud with her, because we know that is what she wants.

  • Agreed! At some point it would be funny though to march out a bunch of community organizers and show who they are. They are the thankless few who fight first hand for the many who have been left behind by corporate greed (GOP specialty). They are also going to be a very diverse bunch which will contrast greatly with the 90+% white GOP convention.
