  • Scalfin,

    yep, they're the ones. :-)

IRAN’S WEAPONS….Tina Susman of the LA Times reports that Iranian involvement in Iraq’s civil war may not be everything it’s been cracked up to be:

There was something interesting missing from Maj. Gen. Kevin Bergner’s introductory remarks to journalists at his regular news briefing in Baghdad on Wednesday: the word “Iran,” or any form of it. It was especially striking as Bergner, the U.S. military spokesman here, announced the extraordinary list of weapons and munitions that have been uncovered in recent weeks since fighting erupted between Iraqi and U.S. security forces and Shiite militiamen.

….A plan to show some alleged Iranian-supplied explosives to journalists last week in Karbala and then destroy them was canceled after the United States realized none of them was from Iran. A U.S. military spokesman attributed the confusion to a misunderstanding that emerged after an Iraqi Army general in Karbala erroneously reported the items were of Iranian origin.

When U.S. explosives experts went to investigate, they discovered they were not Iranian after all.

As Kevin Drum points out, this was a small post on the LA Times Iraq blog. Not the front page of the LA Times, just a small online note. Would any of us have heard about it otherwise? How many times have we heard that Iran is supplying the “enemy” in Iraq? That seems to get through the media loud and clear. Why, it’s almost as if the media is simply relying on the Pentagon and the White House talking points. Hmmm….

  • By setting that withdrawl date isn't McCain waving the "white flag of surrender"?

'What kind of message is McCain sending the terrorists by telling them when we'll be out of Iraq?' (babble babble)

  • Unless and until I see something substantive from Conyers this is just another empty threat, and how many have we witnessed from other Democrat chairs?

  • I'm watching John Kerry on CNN, he's addressing Bush's speech. I wish I could sense anger in Kerry's voice. Bush needs to be taken to task, not by polite analysis, he needs to be attacked, excoriated, by name for what he is.

I think the Dems in the House and Senate should take to the floor tomorrow and attack Bush for his comparing those who oppose him as appeasers
and liken them to the Nazi invasion of Poland.

When cretins like Bush compare political opposites to the Nazis he's taking away from the suffering the Jews experienced under that regime.
I'm sorry I didn't hear any Knesset member boo Bush when he made this reference.

  • Remember the Massachusettes Supreme Court ruling legitimizing gay marriage......didn't that ruling come in an election year with Kerry running?

Wasn't that Court tilted toward Republicans?

I'm breathing polluted air, I lost my job to China, I have no health care, and my son's body is scattered all over Iraq....but things will be better if only we can put restrictions on gays.

  • I saw part of Bush's speech to the Knesset.
Bush babbled about "appeasment" and referenced Hitler's invasion of Poland. Did Bush think he was talking to Limbaugh dittoheads? What a frikkin asshole. Referring to Hitler's Germany the way he did takes from the suffering the Jews experienced during those years.

Any Democrat that went along with the alleged $300 million for covert offensive action against Iran should be ran out of Congress.
