  • Well, I would of course assume there was a real body. The question is whether the body was Lay. I agree it's unlikely.

  • I don't think anyone from the South wants to bring up the word "Deliverance".

  • Almost 8 months since he was elected, but only 5 months since he was sworn in.

  • I'm not sure how verifiable Lay's death is. I think he's dead, but it's not crazy to wonder if someone with that much money could fake a convenient death effectively, especially with how corrupt the DOJ is under Bush.

  • Other multimillionaires self-fund their campaigns. I don't see why Clinton can't be expected to do the same. She should write off the debt to herself. Bill can make some more speeches, and Hillary can write a book, and everything will be fine.

And I agree with those saying that it's time to move on from the constant stories about Clinton. I know you'll miss them, but Obama is the nominee.

  • Is there some purpose for the repeated front-page headlines at TPM every time some poll somewhere turns out with a pro-Hillary result? Since there are few similar headlines for Obama-favorable poll results, it's obviously cherrypicking, and Eric seems to be the usual culprit.

  • Greg, you have a strange notion of what constitutes a "flat-out assertion". The actual quotes from Wolfson you provide do not support the headline.

  • So if you select Clinton's three main swing states, Obama is beating McCain in Pennsylvania and is close in Ohio and even Florida, at a point where Democrats are divided and McCain is riding high and has yet to face significant negative coverage. Sounds pretty good to me.

Now how is Clinton doing in Obama's swing states? Colorado? Nevada? Wisconsin? The sacred Michigan?
