The Democratic party will never define itself in any meaningful way, or separate itself from the stench of GOP tactics and politics until it moves past the Clintons.
How in the world could Obama attract qualified cabinet folks with the Clintons always exerting influence?

McCain is such an entitled brat. Can't you see him stamping his feet and getting red in the face over the audacity of anyone challening the myth he and the media have created for him? Sorry, Senator. Get used to being exposed.

Actually, 2000 had nothing to do with foreign policy. The GOPers ran on "compassionate conservatism," and restoring "dignity" to the White House after the horrible peace and prosperity of the Clinton years.
2002 and 2004? Sure. The public was scared shitless and the GOPers exploited it.
2006 and 2008? You see the difference right?

Yeah, you're right. It's totally inconsistent to analyze past policy as a means of furthering future policy. That history stuff, and learning from it is so over-played.

"Ridicule and bemusement" is the only proper tone Obama should take with these clowns. They aren't worthy of outrage, and they aren't worthy of any "all due respect." This shouldn't be difficult for Obama, as he has almost 8 years of the McBush years to hold up and throw in the GOP's face.

Totally. Hanging around with Wright for 20 years shows far worse judgment than green-lighting the Iraq war, voting for the bankruptcy bill, promising to obliterate Iran, etc. etc.

Reid's "leadership" has been weak and deplorable since his appointment as the Majority Leader. It is unbelievable that the most despised President in recent memory, coupled with the most treasonous and complicit Republican minority in recent member, can continue to frame any and all discussion in this country in terms of their fascistic loyalty to "the military."
The Democrat Party is as treacherous as the GOP because it prefers to worship the boot of authoritarianism out of fear, rather than to do the business of the people who gave it power. When our elected officials are more afraid of the faceless beaurocrats in the Pentagon than of the PEOPLE, America as an idea is dead; it's meaningless. We are a banana republic living under a military regime that gives us as much or as little liberty as it deems necessary to ensure its own survival - and the Democrat Party goes along with it, out of fear and a craven calculation that it might stand to gain as well.

I think they were more scared of looking like pussies - for good reason; they ARE pussies, but not for the reasons the GOPers claim. However, I don't imagine that Hillary will shed many tears when she is given the keys to the odious precedents set by this president and lap-dog Congress.
