You're talking about a Dem. Each party has its own rules. While yes, she can be replaced after being put into nomination, it's not as easy as replacing her now.
It doesn't seem that she is going to pull out (insert rhythm-method only sex joke here, something Palin also is in favor of) so she will likely become the official Veep nominee. But to remove her after that requires committee approval.
