  • Why would I not seriously think that Webb would not go on to be president?

  • Sometimes it seems as though Hillary, et. al. would have us believe that there are no states or demographic groups involved in this election other than Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia and white working class males.

The whole thing is tired already.

Now, I where's my spirulina smoothie?

  • Mostly, My Friends, because the media LOVE McCain for some reason. Must be a fighter pilot thing. Honestly, this issue could be hammered from now until November, and it would have an effect. Also, with McCain's close association with the current resident at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, I'd bet that the Democrat nominee will clobber him.

The energy generated by that nominee's campaign (can you guess who I'm referring to without referring to him?) should run down the tired old act that McCain's campaign actually is, at least if it's played properly.

  • "Wow, did you eat paint chips as a kid?"

Actually, I did. Damned good they were, too. You should try them.

Now. A good latex gloss goes well with 101 proof bourbon.

  • When we have a chance to have a real leader, a cool hand, a real thinker, and someone who is becoming a statesman as the president, we have to stick with him. After a seven odd years of a president/administration who stumblef***s his/its way through everything, we have a real chance for recovery. We have to stick with it.

I didn't oppose Hillary when this whole thing started, but she's been like a rabid wolverine hanging on to something that she more and more seems to think she should have had by default. She's done things that have led me to believe she's just another power hungry pol who'll do anything to get it. I would admire her persistence if I thought it was based on something real that would do us all some good, or even if she'd kept it civil. She didn't and now I would have to practically be anesthitized to vote for her. Shoot, bourbon on election day IS an American tradition.

  • He got beat? Was this even a contest? Where was the actual competition between Obama and Clinton? That's what I just don;t understand about these things. How do you declare a winner in a situation where the candidates aren't really competing with each other , and where it's really 3 (well 4, if you count Hannity) against 1?

There was no contest here. It was "let's get together and rough up Obama and don't let him respond too much night" on ABC. As a debate it was a complete and utter fraud.

It's fine to get tougher on Obama, but do it on things like his plan for Iraq, or the economy, or healthcare. This other stuff is horse**t.

    Semper fi', Eric.

  • First of all, was this even a debate? These things don't seem like debates at all. They are like pundit-operated quiz shows. There seems to be very little give and take between the candidates.

Also, why is it assumed that Obama had a terrible night? Because he was on the defensive much of the time? Because he was forced to deal with useless tabloid questions? Considering the eye-deep horses**t he had to deal with, I thought he was fine. Frankly, there wasn't much of a contest here. He was ambushed. When you are ambushed, you attack and I thought he did his best in that regard.

I also thought it was telling that Hillary said she'd push for a democrat"whoever" the nominee tuned out to be. Was this an admission of some kind?
