  • What Was I Thinking?

I am proud to be a lifelong Democrat.  We did things differently.  We had morals.  We had conviction.  We had ethics.  That's why it was so hard to live through the Bush/Rove era.  All the things that I believe in were ignored and...more »

  • Thank you all for your comments. They've entertained me and enlightened me for months now. (Sorry, feeling that sense of togetherness now.) It will be a pleasure to kick some republican ass with you over the next few months.

  • I thought Kerry was great! I was waiting for that milquetoast approach I saw too much of 4 years ago. This was a new guy, with new botox. But at least his lips could still move and moved well.

  • Bill really got on a roll. He got better and better. I'd forgotten ow good he can be. I saw him campaign for Kerry in Santa Fe, New Mexico four years ago. If he can do that for Obama, we're golden.

  • I have to echo the sentiments complimenting Hillary. It was the best speech I have seen her give. Far more personal and emotional than her campaign speeches. I also gave $25 to Hillary for her debt. I never believed there was the rift that the networks were touting. I hate that the networks have become promoters rather than reporters.

  • Having watched CNN foment a perceived rift between Clinton and Obama, where I don't believe one exists, followed by a poll that is mysteriously different than others released close in time, raises that cynical side of me that says they're no longer in it for the journalism -- they're in it for the ratings.

  • Not kidding. I just got it. It's Biden.

  • I just got my text message. Anyone else?

  • I had a drop a few bucks on Al's campaign for that ad. Al does contact me more than any other candidate that I've contributed too, however. Those evening calls get a little annoying after a while. That's the beauty of caller ID, however.

  • Besides being shady, what this story does is to discourage the next set of oil execs who want to give a nice little "bonus" to their employees with the understanding that a corresponding contribution be made to McCain. I wonder if the FBI will be crawling up the Hess's ass like they did to some Edwards' donors four years ago, when the same type of allegations were made.

  • All I know is that McCain's always the last one to know that it's raining.
