  • Remember that the only way to have an elected official representing you who agrees with ytour views 100% of the time is to run for and win an election.

  • Hey, look at that list of states!

Alaska?! North Dakota?! Wow - I guess fundraising is going well since the primary ended.

  • I'm Barack Obama and do you see my shiny flag pin?

It's definitely a switch to a general election message. Doesn't exactly get me all excited, but it's a logical and probably effective message to start the general election.

  • THanks. I did find some helpful info there. But I think basically no one can predict what will happen based on previous election results because having an African-American is totally new.

What is interesting is that we can predict the impact of say 10% increase in AA voter turnout in various states.

  • Question for TPMers:

Has anyone read any articles or prognostications about what we should expect the voter turnout to be from African-Americans this year (other than jsut a "big")?

What is clear is that many pollsters are using 2004 turnout models to predict turnout in 2008. They may be right and often the predicted wave of new voters (often young) doesn't materialize to the degree to change an election. But I'm wondering if anyone has attempted to make some educated guesses about the increase in AA turnout this year? Any help?

    Thanks, Yoda

  • Whoo hoo!!*

*polling in June should be celebrated or mourned with the caveat that it's still freakin June. Nonetheless, I'm most excited here about Pennsylvania. I think as long as Obama holds onto MI, PA, MI, and WI he will win the White House because he's going to win in VA and CO.

  • Here is Tim Russert asking McCain about his tax cut flip flop:
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=dYsKiA3Myyw

McCain has a painful minute or so to prepare for his response as Russert shows him past statements on Bush tax cuts. McCain's answer is weak - he jsut answers it as if there was no change in postiion at all. As if he didn't just watch himself say that he couldn't support tax cuts for the rich because they would mean budget deficits.
