I wonder whether John McCain realizes that if he is elected president, al Qaeda and Ahmadinejad and all those other very very scary people he keeps telling us about REALLY WILL demean and insult him. And all Bud Day's and Orson Swindle's whining won't make them stop.

Um, is that a bad thing? Every time one of McCain's surrogates says something stupid and/or racist, McCain proudly announces that he can't control his surrogates.

Seriously, why? I know he's a senator. There are 100 senators.

You know how young girls who have crushes on young boys write "Mrs. (Her First Name) (His Last Name)" over and over again to see how it looks and sounds? Lieberman's got notebooks filled with "McCain/Lieberman '08" in his locker. It would be almost too much for his phony bipartisan heart to bear. (It would do my heart almost as much good if he lost again.)

Lieberman may or may not get that nod, but if McCain wins that dumbass-Eeyore face of Old Failure will be unavoidable, telling us all how real Americans love war.

P. 4345 is Senor apologizing that a piece of his revealed something "not helpful." He does tell them to put it in "the bird" (apparently some roundup of news coverage) if they think it's "helpful."

Not the biggest revelation, but when I think of my relationships with the people I write about, it turns my stomach.

Gaming this out, what happens if McCain wins the general election? Nothing. What happens if he loses? Nothing--it would stink to high heaven if President Obama/Clinton's DOJ went after a vanquished political opponent.

That's the thing. That's why this should be a big deal, but won't be. McCain is going to spend every dollar he can get from any source he can find and he isn't going to care what's legal and what's not. He's busy defending the American Way - he doesn't have time to respect the law.
