Taguba is a true American hero.
Is there a position for him in an Obama Administratio? Perhaps the investigation of war crimes should be led by retired military officers, to help avoid any misperception of partisanship?

Why does Josh allow Greg Sargent a platform on which to spread his pro-Hillary, anti-Obama interpretation of the news?
As Josh has pointed out any ties, minor variations in Gallup's poll mean nothing, they ebb and flow over the course of the campaign. Josh has even mocked news reports that pounce on these headlines.
Seriously, is Greg on Hillary's payroll, or angling for a job with a Clinton Administration?

Greg Sargent, critisizing Barack Obama on some minor hair-splitting point? I'm shocked, shocked!

Passion-Fruit Pie
This is a delicious, "exotic" pie for those of us who didn't grow up in the tropics. Look for fruit with smooth shiny skins, that get dimples as they ripen. If you can't find fresh fruit, frozen pulp will work just as well.
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cups passion fruit pulp
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar (preferably turbinado, sucanat, blond, or brown sugar)
2 teaspoons fine rice flour or corn starch
1 tablespoon gelatin (can also substitute with agar cake mix/vegetarian gelatin)
1 tablespoon butter
4 eggs, yolks and whites separated
1 pie crust (preferably graham cracker)DIRECTIONS:
* Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
* Bring water, juice, sugar to boil over medium heat.
* Constantly but gently stirring, stir in rice flour.
* Constantly but gently stirring, stir in gelatin.
* Constantly but gently stir until thickened.
* Remove from heat.
* Let cool slightly.
* Mix egg yolks with butter.
* Stir in cooled juice mixture.
* Whip egg whites until stiff peaks form.
* Gently fold juice mixture into egg whites.
* Gently spread into crust.
* Bake 30 minutes.
* Let thoroughly cool before cutting or serving.This pie puffs up in the oven like a souffle and then collapses into a light golden mousse. The result is a lovely, unusual, yet elegantly simple and delicious dessert.

">I blogged about this twelve months ago; it seems obvious, now. Tapper's framing, "the Scandal that Dare Not Speak Its Name," is apt: Bill Clinton's ravings have both the sadness and madness of a Macbeth. The more he lashes out, the more his loss of power and dignity become evident.
Just over a year ago (March 2007), I wrote:
Of course Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton's other sexual dalliances are a campaign issue (much as they might not be in an ideal world). Wake up to reality. Do you really think that Hillary will be effective in achieving Democratic goals (if elected) with this baggage chained to her neck? As if her opponents, both domestic and foreign, won't use every conceivable way to needle and undermine her? Sure, Hillary gets icy [...] whenever Bill's blow-jobs are mentioned, so what? I feel sorry for her on a personal basis, but she has chosen to enter the race for control of the most powerful empire ever created, so nothing is forbidden. Since when does a single candidate get to dictate the terms of international political discourse? Will Putin respect these delicate wishes of Hillary? Sunni insurgents? Shiite foes? Will the Republican opposition at home? The right-wing media that we dKosians all know and hate? Swift Vets and other 527s? No way.
(Fwiw, I ardently defended Bill Clinton against the "politics of personal destruction" throughout the 1990s. I publicly spoke out and wrote articles about the precise definition of "sexual relations" (it means coitus), pointing out that Bill was quite careful in his lawyerly choice of words. He misled the public, and having a sexual affair with a 22 year-old intern is not a good role model for a husband and father, but he did not lie under oath.) [...]
The better, more-principled appointees of the Bill Clinton Administration will not go back in if Hillary wins. They've had enough. What we'd be left with is syncophantic, third-string, incestuous, lousy policy-makers. The clearest example of this was Mary Matalin's husband, James Carville, clamoring for Howard Dean's resignation on November 8, 2007, after Dean's 50-state strategy successfully reclaimed both the US House and Senate, against all odds of a year ago. The DLC had spent two years attacking Dean for not raising enough money and for spending too much of it. After Dean's triumph in the 2006 election the best the DLC could come up with was that he didn't borrow enough! *laf* I'm not making this up: the DLC/Carville critique was that Dean didn't borrow the maximum on a $10 million credit-line.

Krugman has been trying to position himself for a senior job with a Clinton Administration since, oh, 1994. In Bill's Admin, Krugman reversed himself and threw out most of his strategic-trade theory (which says free trade isn't always smart for some some countries) in order to kow-tow to Bill's NAFTA agenda. (Krugman rationalized the about-face in a series of arguments that still rank among his worst.)
Now, he's trying to curry favor with Hillary's crowd. Who knows what job he thinks he can get -- certainly CEA, maybe something better (a new NEC?).
Whatever his personal goals, he's out to lunch in his critiques of Obama. (Just curious, who does Robin Wells support?)

I don't get the logic of this.
For months, the Billary campaign has said it's fine to attack Obama on anything under the sun "because Republicans will do so in the General Election, so he'd better be able to defend himself."
But now, suddenly, it's considered taboo to mention the fact that Bill Clinton has a serial sexual-addiction problem, that he had oral sex with a 21-yo intern, lied about it to his staff, supporters and the country at large, and was impeached for this (though not convicted)?
As if, somehow, this will not be used by Rethugnicans in the General Election?
I agree with the comments saying Greg is a Hillary-backer. But even a Hillary-backer should recognize the weakness of this logic.
Hillary can do a fine job in the Senate -- let her lead from there.

One in 10 African-Americans from age 20-34 are in jail; 1 in 4 if you include parole and probation.
And Obama is "lucky" to be African-American?
Holy smokes, Ferraro's comments are truly bizarre. And to think I campaigned for her back in the old days!!!
