What a messed-up muddle. Who's the "someone"? Who's the "they"? When, exactly, was "over 2,000 years ago"? Why is past-tense used to state, "We didn't need Nancy Pelosi to do that"? It hurts the brain ... And that doesn't even take into account the stupidity of "saving our planet" from "global warming" as "fanaticism."

Happy Birthday, Barack!
Yesterday, I was out at the Albany shore, here in Alameda County, which is a former dumping ground for demolished infrastructure, now grown over and popular with local artists who construct sculpture with driftwood and junk. There is also a lot of very creative graffiti. I saw several artistic celebrations of your name and/or likeness.
What a delight, I thought. I'm 48 -- a year older than you Barack -- and I can't remember ever seeing funk art that depicted a leading candidate for political office. Ditto for all the t-shirts I see around the Bay Area with your terrific face beaming out at the public. I know that Bay Area artists and t-shirt wearers are not the best indicators for winning the Presidency, but it's pretty damned impressive, regardless.
Keep doing what you do so well!

All five are classic limericks. Perfectly metered and ingeniously rhymed, and, most importantly, filthy and low-hitting. Too bad the new Poet Laureate was just named. (But if you read Kay Ryan's work, which is very pithy and tight, I bet she could knock out a good limerick, worthy of this site.) A five-way tie, with about a dozen runners up!

Not done with the filthy McCain limericks, yet, so hold on:
What’s worse, a cunt or a trollop
An old man with a deep growing polyp
Think of how fun it’d be
With First Lady Cindy
And a President whose arms seem to gallopPosted at July 17, 2008 10:29 PM in response to John McCain Limerick Thread!

I need to leave this good thread
To earn money and buy me some bread
But it sure has been fun
To rhyme hit-and-run
Now talking normal I do dreadPosted at July 17, 2008 7:07 PM in response to John McCain Limerick Thread!

Have you noticed when writing in Limerick
Your rhyme and meter do stick
It's hard not to say
Everything A,A,B,B,A
Soon they start coming right quickPosted at July 17, 2008 7:03 PM in response to John McCain Limerick Thread!

Sorry for the New Yorker Satire
Teasing McCain made me tire
I'm a supporter of Barack
And opposed to Iraq

With Obama's hand on the Koran
We'll have our First Islamic Man
The First Lady's new fro
Tied with a black bow
He swore he wasn't when he ran!Posted at July 17, 2008 6:31 PM in response to John McCain Limerick Thread!
