  • If McCain tries to drag this out for another day, the time will have arrived to smack him in the nose. Give him a taste of the misogynistic, biased sort of invective that is so popular with Republicans:

Webb and Clark can tell McCain to stop being hysterical, to calm down, to mind his blood pressure, that he must be hard of hearing to have misinterpreted what Clark and Webb said, that he has again lost his bearings, that McCain is being cranky, and dyspeptic, and irregular, and demented.

This is a contact sport, guys. McCain has started hitting, so hit back, already. There must be some official non-surrogates who would enjoy taking some cheap shots.

  • Feh. If they want to get some action, defund the salaries of the AG and his upper staff. They have no right to withold this information from Congress, so they are not doing their job. How can statements to the FBI be privileged? Under what damn theory is this even possible? Pass emergency legislation reducing Mukasey's salary 1$ per year, or at least make the Republicans actually filibuster it.

  • Why should I care about the respect of a 'Democrat' who gets pissy when the rules are followed, and then declares she will vote for McCain. I can respect sincere republicans, but why should I respect insincere trolls? I will respect you to the extent you respect the process and the rest of us.

Hint: the electorate is not that into Hillary. If the primaries were held today, HRC would lose to Obama in CA, NJ, MA and maybe even NY. There are fewer of you than you think, and a lot of you make up a distubing lumpenhillatariat that the rest of us want little to do with.

  • Who cares about the popular vote? That is not how the system works.

If the popular vote was how the nomination worked, Obama would have run his campaign differently, and may well have won that. Given that Obama did not try to win the popular vote, and never should have tried to do so, the fact (if it IS a fact) that Hillary is ahead on the popular vote is meaningless.

Instead, you have to compete for delegates, and Obama has won the competition for delegates. Following the letter and the spirit of the rules is a good thing - it is the opposite of cheating and bad faith.

Obama has, or will very shortly have, the majority of delegates. That means that Obama wins. That means that Hillary, Edwards, Gravel, Kucinish, Dodd and Biden all lost. Too bad for them. Better luck next time - aside from Gravel they were all good candidates who would have made good presidents.

  • What is McCain afraid of?

Given that Iran has already offered to shut down Hezbollah, McCain must be terrified that peace might break out. The GOP would be destroyed as part of the collateral damage.

  • If for no other reason, it needs to be clear that the destruction of any records in the white house or naval observatory would be felonies. There needs to be an active investigation to give serious teeth to this.

They will shred everything anyway, because destruction of records beats war crimes by a mile, but lets just tie up all these loose ends shall we?

  • Why not take the fight to Chris LaCivita, whomever the F he is? Investigate his businesses, his history, his wife, and so on. Publicize everything in the most negative light possible. The smartass jerk has made himself a public figure, so he will have a difficult time sustaining a defamation suit, so have at it, go crazy.

Two can play at this game. Raise some bucks and go after Hannity, Rush, and any other creep that sticks his creepy head above water.

No need to go after McCain this way - that would be contrary to our principles. But the professional slimeballs that infest the GOP should get what is coming to them.

  • One of those jurors ought to invite the FBI and record whatever they have to say -- any bit of intimidation would be very clear.

For an agent to do this when the defense attorney is Dick Thornburgh just boggles the mind.
