  • Way to go Ohio!

  • This is another example of the righty bias of the media. Any right-wing nutsense is ok because it appeals to the tribal and can be spun as patriotic, tough, manly and distilled to a bumper-sticker or 20 seconds for "film @ 11". The right gas worked the refs (media) and the media is now happy to see only what they are told to see and report what they see. The I-net is the one place where such stories as this get any coverge at all.

  • One set of laws for us...no laws for them. I did not see this comming. Paranoia deficiency is deadly around Bushies. Nothing is as it seems and everything is a lie. Has anyone checked out the claim that this reintrepretation position is in publicly available DOJ opinions since 1987?

  • You can't handle what you don't know. Bush & Friends have never known the truth...only the alternate reality they substitute. His (father's) money, name, connections etc has enabled him to live free...of reality.

  • It sounds like this was an intended sham. Call for a double secret session, divulge nothing new, claim you did, (how can you prove the R's did not share secret intel), then claim the D'd ignored what you said that would save American lives. IF there is a serious attack here or elsewhere, the R's have more fodder. We need to remember: who protects us from those we surrender our rights to.
Why are they more moral/honest than AQ.

  • I think the Bushies have more 4 votes on the Supreme Court, or they would not be pushing this. The game has been rigged almost, perhaps beyond, the point where it can not tilt back. Like with the media, the bureauracy, many parts of organized religion, the courts have been yoked to the greater good of the rich, the righteous and the right wing at the expense of everyone else.

  • I wonder if the weakness and co-operative nature of the Dems in both houses has anything to do with the evesdropping I understand the Bushies were doing before 911. The spying could not have been UBL/AQ since they did not believe in him/them since they (the Bushies) heard about him from the Clintons. Unlimited spying and KR in the same dimension of reality.....works for me.

Posted at February 12, 2008 10:12 PM in response to Senate Votes to Give Retroactive Immunity for Telecoms

  • This is my first post on TPM although I have been a reader for some time. I have seen Mr Schuster many times on CountDown and elsewhere and found him to be such that this comment is an anomoly. I would not call this part of a pattern. We have all made comments that did not come out as they sounded in our own head. When you make an error you own up, apologize, make amends where it is possible and do better. There have been comments made by those in front of the camera who hail from the right that have been far more offensive and the media mostly ignores it. No one calls for their heads and/or the heads don't roll. Perhaps that is what they are expected to do, say stupid hateful things and so there are no consequences or repercussions. Let anyonelse make a mistake that is both human and possible when appearing multiple times daily on camera, and the sky goes black and the sea gives up its dead. More is to be gained by forgiveness than by "going to war". This is to me where it is obvious that the media in general has a definate right wing bias.
