Nobody's telling anybody what to do (interesting that you perceive it that way, though. It's simply advice.

(1) At least one American would like some advice, because he *asked* Obama a question about what individuals could do to help get us out of our energy mess, and Obama (*gasp*) gave him a truthful, practical answer.

(2) The exact same advice has been offered up on a website created by the administration of . . . wait for it . . . regular, un-elitist guy. . . . . . "world's biggest polluter" . . . direct from Washington . . . GEORGE W. BUSH!

(3) The exact same advice was just given in a joint appearance (YouTube it) by REPUBLICANS Arnold Schwarzenegger (who would surely be John "Tire Gauge" McCain's running mate if the Constitution allowed it) and Charlie Crist, reputed to be on John "Sturgis Stud" McCain's VP short list.

So a nationally televised committee meeting in which very strong Clinton supporters had multiple chances to make their case, and an equal vote (the FL vote was unanimous, and most Clinton supporters voted for the compromise) is somehow Rovian?

Josh has a good post up today about how non-voters in MI and FL are as "disenfranchised" as voters in this situation. But it prompted a question for me.

I don't live in either state, so can you explain why people *did* vote in MI on primary day? Do you believe (a) they weren't aware of the DNC ruling, (b) knew but were angry about it, or (c) knew, were angry, and believed that the primary would somehow be made to count later on?

An amazing number of people turned out, and I can't understand why. If the primary had been held in my state, I never would have voted in it knowing the DNC ruling, just because I would have considered it a waste of time.

Um, with all due respect, bypass operations are neither "latest" nor a "fad." On the contrary, coronary artery bypass (many of which are done "off-pump," incidentally) might be considered the most successful surgical procedure in history, in that it produces the desired results most of the time with few side-effects. CABG surgery has been practiced since the early 1960s. If anything is a "fad," it's using stents to treat people who need CABG. End of rant.
