  • damn you beat me to it.

Posted at June 19, 2008 4:18 PM in response to McCain: I Will Kill Bin Laden; Obama Won't Say What He'd Do

  • greg, nice touch - "If McCain can't stand up to the 527s, how is he going to take on Al Qaeda?"

Posted at June 12, 2008 4:13 PM in response to McCain: I Can't Stop Outside Groups From Attacking Obama

  • I do hope that team Obama (team Democrat) will do a good job of making sure that everyone understands what McCain's 2 paragraph argument boils down to:

"Elect Obama, and you and your family will be blown up by terrorists."

It's a slightly garbled version of the same mushroom-cloud argument Cheney made about Kerry in 2004. And while I'm at it, prediction: someone in the GOP will specifically mention the prospect of a "mushroom cloud" sooner rather than later to try and make people scared of Obama.

Posted at May 19, 2008 1:30 PM in response to McCain: Americans Should Be Afraid -- Very Afraid -- Of President Obama

  • oy vey. what a schmuck. as a jewish american democrat, it really pisses me off that this man is the most "authoritative", or at least most prominent voice for jewish american politicians these days. paging russ feingold: can you please send out a press release or something? and please call joe lieberman a terrorist. just for shits and giggles. see how he likes it.

Posted at May 12, 2008 11:32 AM in response to Lieberman: Obama's Alleged Endorsement By Hamas Shows "Difference" With McCain

  • well what is he supposed to say? "yeah, we're trying to decide whether to drop out now or hold on until May 20 and then drop out"?

Of course he said there have been no discussions. He has to say that, as does Sen. Clinton. But watching last night, you could tell they see the writing on the wall. When she individually thanked Chelsea and Bill in the middle of her speech, it had the effect of cast members of a popular sitcom coming out for a bow after the series finale.

Posted at May 2, 2008 1:27 PM in response to Hillary: Tuesday's Voting Will Be A "Game Changer"

  • so he's losing the high school education or less vote by 65-25? at the risk (or certainty) of sounding elitist: obama is losing the dumbass vote. not that everyone who didn't go to college is a dumbass, that's not true at all - but the demographic he is winning is smarter than the demographic she is winning. i know i shouldn't say that, it's not politically correct to equate more education with being smarter. but it's worth pointing out.

Posted at May 1, 2008 8:32 PM in response to Pew: Obama Losing White Working Class Dems To Hillary In Landslide

  • "slum lord" - if you seriously think that obama has any chance of losing the big blue states like new york and california, well, good luck in making that argument. the democrats could put up kermit the frog and take new york and california.

and by the way, we're (we democrats) won't win by just winning the big blue states. they're called big blue states because dems always win them, and yet we've lost 5 of the last 7 presidential elections. we need to expand the map.

Posted at April 21, 2008 1:09 PM in response to Why Hillary Clinton can't be stopped

  • This is strange. Ickes, while using some pretty nasty tactics in this campaign, is not an idiot. He has to know that this will cause a backlash among some voters, a lot of the political media, especially bloggers, and most importantly the superdelegates. The reason that Sen's Casey and Klobuchar, and Gov. Richardson (and probably some other minor superdels who are not famous enough for me to remember right now) have endorsed Obama in the past week or two is not that they suddenly realized they liked him better than Clinton, it was a direct response to what they sensed was an increasingly divisive campaign from Clinton's campaign. Pushing Rev. Wright behind the scenes is one thing, but for Ickes to admit to doing so in an on-the-record interview is just baffling. And all this talk about a minority report, credentials committee blah blah - there is not a single Democratic superdelegate that thinks that will be a good thing 10 weeks before the general election. What is his game? I'm confused!!!
