  • all they have to do is give it to their talk radio monopoly to repeat and it will become truth.

the coordinated uncontested repetition from the GOP talk radio monopoly does more to determine what is acceptable news than any other single medium. but without searchable transcripts of their shows the media analysts and haven't been able to document the migration of GOP talk radio talking points and lies to the lazy celebrity media circuit. they like taking the prechewed bushit off the talk radio bandwagon (reinforced in faxes and emails) because they know it's already been pounded into the ears of tens of millions by the end of the day or week. doesn't matter how false or absurd it is, they feel like they're on a red velvet GOP bandwagon.

meanwhile progressives completely ignore talk radio because it hurts their ears and they strategize in a vacuum, looking for explanations, and excepting explanations that falsely and tragically attribute Dem failures and GOP gains to social movements instead of the coordinated mass repetition by raving blowhards on the talk radio monopoly that largely determines the political and media flavor of America.

and increasingly, progressive media activists cede the talk radio monopoly to the right thinking they're passing them with the internet. a big mistake. the internet seems progressive since it is still somewhat democratic and reflects real America- it may inform people who search for information but it is not a monster coordinated propaganda outlet reaching 50-70 MIL.

  • most of the swiftboating is done with the uncontested repetition of the talk radio monopoly and that is still in place and still largely working under the progressive radar as it did against kerry and gore and will for obama or clinton (again).

  • jury selection in all cases persecuting, er, prosecuting prominent Des may have to begin regularly including the question- do you listen to the local state right wing talk megastation blowhards who put this guy on trial on air as soon as they got the fax from Rove's office?

  • progressives can neutralize this crap by recognizing most of the groundwork is done with their talk radio monopoly and boycotting and protesting relative to the local talk radio station.

the uncontested repetition all over the country to 50-70MIL 24/7 is the difference.

  • another tidbit on Krauthammer- before Samantha Smith, the Anti-Reagan and growing anti-nuclear PR disaster for Star Wars proponents was Wellstoned in 1985 (see Amazing Grace and Chuck- loosely based on her story), Krauthammer wrote that he had to concede, reluctantly it seems, that the 11 yo was not really a communist dupe, that her motives were genuine. I wonder what some of the rest of todays neocons thought of her at the time.

  • my point is that while many republicans voting for obama are anti bush most republicans voting for Clinton are anti Dem.

  • there's a difference between getting votes from republicans who are beginning to see the corruption and incompetence of the bush admin and having the GOP distort the Dem primaries for their gain.

  • you're right.

they hate hillary because of years of uncontesetd repetitious swiftboating of the clintons on their talk radio monopoly and i'd bet most republicans who are sick of bush enough to get out of the GOP would go to obama. the racists wont switch.

  • limbaugh IS massively influential- he and his wannabes are the main reason we are in this bus disaster. that's why he got a contract for 1/3BIL- a firesale considering what he made for his patrons in tax breaks and war profits.

he gets closer to a 20mil audience and then everyone else hears about it from the media coverage. it's way past time for a new Fairness Doctrine.
