  • Davidsfr,

What's your point? Nothing you say changes the fact that the second poll is encouraging.

If we essentially average the polls (which as you point out can be done keeping within MOE), Lautenberg appears to have a lead.

None of this is inconsistent with the post. Plenty of us can fill in that context.

  • Ms Ciara,

It is somewaht too complex to answer all that, though I appreciate the questions, they are good ones. I want to be clear that the Clinton campaign has made me irate at times. In general though, I think the imagery of them as Machiavellian (sp?) geniuses perfectly calibrating everything they and their surrogates say is ridiculous. I think that image is partly an outgrowth of the 17 year campaign of smears (from the right) the Clintons have endured. It troubles me to have it come back from the left. I think many of the previous blow-ups have been partly about artless comments. Though in some of those cases they were in fact trying to tread an unpleasant line.

The kicker for me here is that in fact the Clinton's do have formidable skill. Making such an implication would clearly be toxic. It would be suicidal. They are not that stupid. There would be nothing to gain. I really do not and will not believe they are interested in murder. Unless perhaps some people here want to make me really sick and bring up Vince Foster.

I hope that is a partial answer.

  • Just chiming in again, though obviously no one here, or apparently anywhere, wants to hear me. I am an Obama supporter (though he was not my first choice).

This circus is making me sick.

None of us profit from this kind of politics. Destroy Hillary Clinton today with this and beware who gets destroyed next. Beware how they get destroyed. Beware what else gets destroyed.

  • Come on people. It was an artless remark. These people speak and speak and speak. Things are going to come out badly sometimes. It looked to me, in context, that it was cited as an example of a primary contest very much ongoing in June. RFK was where he was when he got shot because he had just won a crucial victory. People who live and breathe politics as she does take the context of where RFK was and what was happening as given knowledge.

Again, artless. Please, please, I do not want the left to play these stupid "gotcha" games.

  • I certainly have no use for Judith Miller. But can we all please refrain from using demeaning terms for women like the one used here. There are plenty of good epithets to hurl at her without going down that path.

  • Watch the polls on this. This strategy has been working for Obama. The dynamic reminds me of South Carolina. I was impressed then at how he was willing to stick the knife into Clinton while decrying the sticking of knives. The way the media usually treats Clinton, not that big a trick, but still noteworthy. It should not be hard here to tear down Clinton along with ABC. He does it well in the clip. This could be the pivot point that lifts him in Pennsylvania, if not to victory, then close.

  • I just want to start by saying we do all need to work to stay calm. Repetitious, I know.

The notion of pro-Clinton bias at this site is silly.

The post, as it stands now seems just fine to me. Reasonable and balanced.

That said, the link on the homepage needs to be reworded (if it hasn't been already). I thought the "headline" was needlessly inflammatory. The use of the words "better watch out" certainly caught my eye, which is I suppose part of the intention. But I think they are too much.

    Good piece.
