Evan Bayh is also scheduled. In fact, Bayh and Dodd are listed as surrogates. Richardson seems to be cast as a party elder, in between the two, talking about the good of the party.

Campaigning in Texas? She was supposed to be there. She wants the Democratic nomination but she doesn't want to take a stand. Obama could have been off campaigning. I think he's running, too.

Running ads and making personal visits are two distinctly different operations for any candidate. Obama is in Virginia and Maryland today, in Wisconsin later in the week. I'm sure HRC is doing similar logistics (although limited in funds).
In a general election all the balls are in the air all the time. There are just so many hours any one candidate can be actively campaigning. Obama taking out ads in Texas and Ohio is just smart. They are announcements of coming attractions.
It's just a well run operation.

For the first time, there is mention of a possible concession by Clinton (and from a pro-Clinton newspaper)
In a sign of how radically the dynamic of the race has shifted in recent days, some Clinton staffers now privately concede Obama could lock up the nomination with a single win in Ohio or Texas on March 4, or in Pennsylvania on April 22.Posted at February 11, 2008 10:35 AM in response to News Orgs: Obama Ahead Of Hillary In Pledged Delegates, Catching Her In Super-Delegates

An X factor in Rhode Island is that Senator Obama's brother in law is basketball coach of Brown University. It's helpful to have a relative who is a well known resident.

Regardless of whom he endorses, the timing is strange. If he is to endorse Hilary, he has to do it after Chesapeake and before Wisconsin, assuming he has any residual pulling power in Wisconsin. If endorsing Obama, the same time frame seems to be in order. If he waits until the end of the month, his affect, if any on March 4 is limited. He's not the one to cause a knockout punch to be landed.

A win in either Texas or Ohio will be sufficient. Unless Wisconsin is a Clinton blowout, she will need a knockout punch on March 4. A win for Obama in the Chesapeake trio, and a win in Wisconsin, would make a draw on March 4 a win for Obama.

The voting in Nebraska is overwhelming the system out there.
http://ap.theindependent.com/pstories/state/ne/20080209/245449799.shtmlOMAHA, Neb. — Thousands of people statewide overflowed school gyms, sat in traffic and stood in groups to be counted as part of Nebraska's first Democratic presidential caucus.
In Douglas County, the state's most populous county, an average of 1,000 people turned out at each of 15 caucus sites, said Eric Fought, spokesman for the state party.
Thousands of people waited outside Sarpy County's lone caucus site and there were reports that traffic to the site was backed up as much as four miles.
Law enforcement shut down the Highway 370 and the intersection leading into the site because the area was packed with cars.
The turnout was so high that Democratic officials in Douglas and Sarpy counties announced that they would delay the announcement of their results at least one-and-a-half hours.

Remember that Texas is a hybrid system, part primary, part caucus. If you vote in the primary, you can participate in the caucus. Getting followers to do both will make the day. I like Obama's ground game better. Texas will be, at worst, a draw for Obama. If he keeps Ohio close, Hilary is in trouble, no matter how you crunch the numbers.
