You know, I am still trying to figure out that "kind of guy" description.
I don't know what "kind" all that represents. It's either every guy, or none I ever heard of.

I am just getting the news on the Edwards endorsement. As an Edwards Democrat, I can tell you a lot of his supporters will be unhappy. I can't say if it will a majority of them, but there are several who are highly critical of Obama and they will probably vote for McCain or just lay out of the General---at least that is what they will say for the next week or so.
Edwards himself said Sen. Clinton is closer to the status quo of Washington inner circles than he preferred; and he had said he was philosophically closer to Obama--this was in the televised debates. I find what he is doing entirely consistent with the policies and philosophy he put forward.
I am personally going to have trouble with supporting Obama, but Edwards endorsement will cause me to give it a lot more thought.

I especially like the voice on the recording who says .."you go O'Reilly and you got him eating out of your hand because you are so smart..."
...or is it O'Reilly is just so profoundly dumb?Posted at May 8, 2008 5:35 PM in response to Audio: Military Analysts Laud "The Leader" Rumsfeld

I don't have any reason to believe this story nor the convolutions. The Bush Administration lies about virtually everything and do not deserve the benefit of the doubt. And I think that applies to pundit class and press who are talking this story up too.

Oh, I see. The kids are essential military suppliers in the war on terror and are serving the needs of our allies. We cannot disrupt the war on terror. Hey, we didn't do it for Blackwater or Halliburton. Why pick on the kids?

I think the list of Democratic Congressional proxies who were asleep during the last 8 years is rather long. They should all be retired from active service if they haven't the sense to retire themselves. It isn't that they have not performed good deeds sometime during their careers, because I am certain most have. It's just the way the game is supposed to be played: if you dishonor your country by failing at your duty during a critical time, you should make room for someone else to give it a go. So the entire lot: Harman, Schumer,Feinstein---Dem or Republican--you've been there too long and your are entirely too comfortable with your jobs. Move along. There's always something to see somewhere else.

I am neither a supporter of HRC, BO, or JmcC. I am trying hard not to examine Obama's run for the nomination as race-based anymore than Clinton's as gender-based. But John Edwards is correct to suggest despite everything, "history" is intent on blazing its own trail--and that means Mr. Loury's critique is not particularly relevant however heartfelt. I want to know what attributes in a Black candidate (or any color candidate for that matter) would he like to see. The "loss" of figures like Rev Jackson or Rev King may me considerable, but they have had their turn at changing "history"; they made their mark; they did what they could do. How if Barack Obama supposed to behave? Repeat their marks , only deeper?
We know where that leads. We know that it leads to back-lash in this time, and Obama is running in this time--not the future and certainly not in the past. It is not mollifying White America. It is doing what he can do in his own time for his own and our own future. That doesn't slight anybody--not Black leaders nor White ones, past or present.

There is no point in Edwards getting on board either Obama's train or Hillary's. They're in the middle of a train-wreck. I support John to this day as the superior candidate to the kids fighting in the backseat right now.
It isn't being peevish. It is being sane.
