I'll lay the out the simple root issue and the ideal solution:
Issue: Accountability.
I want some fu**ing public accountability - by at least one mother fu**ing Democrat, for all the abuse Bush has wrought - and I want it done in his face, while he's in office. To allow Bush and Cheney and their friends to walk away, knowing what they did had nothing to do with 'security', will be remembered in history for the single greatest act of cowardice ever shown by the American people.
Solution: Follow the Rules of Law - Punishment with the possibility of Redemtion.
Just as the fired US attorneys are now intending to sue the Bush Administration for violating their privacy rights, the Telecoms should face a court for breaking the law, and be charged for any wrongdoing.
Look to the precedents and subsequent actions set by taking either path.
To not convict is the greater danger to this country and it's peopleA new President, while protecting the Constitution, can later commute and pardon those sentences.
That's the ultimate result of a just Democracy.

I trust TPM.
Right now over at the MSNBC "Campaign Alert/Breaking News" desk, "Clinton Officials are swearing they've never discussed the VP role" and are accusing Obama's campaign of spreading these rumors.
Here comes the final episode (Hallelujah!) of "Big nasty black man attacks poor white women" .
Ms. Hillary needs to learn the true
definition of tough from real women, and not from the Ferraro School of Bitter Bitchology.

One other point, when CNN and MSNBC and the blubbering Clintonettes keep pushing this white vote thing, they never look to the general statistics that prove them wrong.
The spineless Dems have NEVER had the majority of white voters in recent elections.
And John Edwards -a white guy/Senator homeboy from his own Southern state of North Carolina, if I remember correctly, won his race with just 41% of the white vote.
Obama -a black guy/Senator won the white vote in that same state by 40%.
Hillary rightfully focuses on the importance -to her -of Democrat only primaries, because it isn't the country as a whole that shows marked signs of racism and bigotry.
It's the 'insiders' of the Democratic party itself.Posted at May 9, 2008 11:15 AM in response to ABC: Obama Overtakes Hillary Among Super-Delegates

But why then did Senator Feinstein -after hearing personally all about Hillary's "strategory" from Hillary, decide to "stand by her"?
Senator Feinstein's days were already numbered after FISA and Mukasey. Maybe she's in agreement to smack the party's ass on the way out their respective doors?
The most unforgivable legacy left by the Clinton's is also an 'bitterly' ironic one:
They came into a party that supposedly had a 'big umbrella' but, like vampires faced with a rising and searing sun, they placed the very bodies of their own brethren in the suns path until all that remainded to protect them was a pile of ashes and -no one to hold the umbrella.Posted at May 9, 2008 11:02 AM in response to ABC: Obama Overtakes Hillary Among Super-Delegates

Gloria Borger, not a Barack fan, pointed out to her Buchananesque colleagues that John Edwards only won 41% of the North Caroling white vote in his Senate race.
Obama won the whites by 1% less.Posted at May 7, 2008 2:35 PM in response to Hillary, Obama Nab Super-Dels

Olbermann reported hysterically funny numbers last night: out of well over 200 Republicans in Congress - most of them incredibly well off - only 37 have donated money to McCains's campaign.
Hell, on our side Barack even donated money to Hillary and dozens of other Democrats.
And Hillary helped ...well ..one Democrat.
The Clintons earned 10 times more than the Obamas- but Obama geve more to his own party.

What, did the entire Democratic party turn into a bunch of fence sitting pansy ass Moderates!!
OOME ON!KO's started this idea on solving the Michigan Florida mess once and for all, and I offered a final give-the-whiner-a-cookie-to-make-her-shut-up touch. Let's do this:
1. -forget the popular vote totals, we're all about the delegates.
2. -the two states did f*** up and must be punished. But let's not be big meanies- just cut off half of the delegates like the republicans. That saves the rule of law - and keeps the Supremes looking worse than us.
3. -Kos' wants to just split the remaining delegates equally.
4. -But I offer the brat a cookie, on Obama's magnanimous behalf: Let's stipulate that Clinton wins take Florida, but Obama takes Michigan.
Split those remaining delegates in Fla. 55%/45%, in Clinton's favor. and reverse that in Mi., 55/45 in Obama s favor.BADA BOOM!
The party and the delegate can relax. The Rule of Law is saved. Clinton gets her "neener neener I got more than Obama" rocks off, and Obama STILL WINS THE F***ING NOMINATION!Now can we all head to Denver and get high??

Nice try Senator Billary, a little grabby for those 300,000 popular votes aren't you?
But it will never fly, the actual Democratic voter turnout was suppressed in comparison to every other state, and the 50,000 Independent voters were screwed. Had Obama actually campaigned there and had it been a valid election-think she'd still have those 300,000 extra votes??
And remember this, there were about 500,000 early votes which likely leaned heavily Clinton, but on voting day both Fox and CNN and MSNBC said Obama beat Clinton.Lets go with my modified KO's plan:
1. Punish the two states the Republican way -take half their delegates. That keeps the 'rules' and penalties intact, so that states and candidates are deterred from trying this again,
2. KO's suggests just splitting the remaining delegates 50/50.
3. But I offer an alternative - since Obama's BLACKNESS has been such an advantage to him(!), let him be extra magnanimous and give Hillary a headstart: give her 55% of Florida's delegates, Obama gets 45%. But then give Obama 55% of Michigan's to Obama and she gets 45%.Or we can play eeny meeny miney moe. But any way you cut it, Hillary cannot not win.

Did you see their whiny group press conference??
These are actual statements:"TELECOM INDUSTRY WON'T STOP TERRORISTS -FOR FEAR OF BEING SUED" ....says the Prez.
"DEMOCRATS WANT TERRORISTS IN COURT RATHER THAN DEAD" ...says Mitch McConnell.
Wowiee! Sounds to me like the President and the Republicans are more afraid of attorneys than terrorists...??
