How is the McCain campaign going to shield their guy from questions like this?
All along, he's been showing how out of touch he really is.
I hope the Obama campaign continues to introduce the country to the real, non-mythical McCain.

Hillary wants to be vp. That's was this crap is about - putting pressure on Obama. I mean, if she's McCain's vp? C'mon.
It's about threatening to put PA in play.

I should've emphasized the words, "...being so obvious..."

I agree. Let McCain drown in his own sludge; let his surrogates and spokespeople (like Rick Davis) desperately try to spin the sludge into the mainstream.
What's already begun is a backlash from pundits and mainstream interviewers who resent McCain's people being so obvious about including them, and expecting them to buy into, the tabloid circus environment.

The most effective thing to do to Lieberman will be to make him irrelevant after the coming election.
Other than that, nothing will be done.
He's on his last legs, with nothing to lose.

I don't get Obama's stand on FISA, but it's just stupid to think any one presidential candidate will ever embody everyone's hopes and dreams.
To think Obama would be ideologically pure is to set yourself up for disapointment.
This is why it's so important to elect progressive Dems to Congress.

...and how many terrorist attacks have taken place in the US since 9/11?
First of all: You have no idea why this is. Even though there are thousands of competent domestic intel and counter-intel people working on this, every time some Bush crony announces a big bust (usually with politically motivated timing), it turns out the people busted were fairly harmless clowns.
Second of all: If you're going to attribute it to Bush's policies, then you also should attribute 9/11 itself to Bush. It happened on his watch, right? He ignored the warnings.
What Bush and all his tough talk has done is create a global terrorist's recruiting dream.
And let me tell you, I have a good friend who imports many, many containers into Newark, NJ, and he can't explain why there's been no second big attack. Either port security has stuff going on that we'll never know about, or terrorists just don't have the ability.
Has Bush shown one thing that really leads you to believe he's competent enough to be responsible for either one? All he's done is make life tougher for our own security people.

The right wing wants McCain to lose, so Obama (in the mind of Conservatives) can set the stage for a Conservative resurgence in 2012. They're dreaming; but still, they won't really help McCain.
Conservatives are in a world of pain. I had to laugh when DeLay called Obama a Marxist. Hey, that'll really resonate.
McCain's fighting a lonely battle here, and it sure doesn't help that he's making mistake after mistake.
No matter the reason - character, policies, mental acuity - he's definitely not fit to be President. But unlike Bush, who was even less fit, he has no apparatus.

This is heartbreaking but not surprising.
It's one of the most important reasons for independent child advocacy orgs. Because even kids whose parents are persistent and well-educated advocates bump up against questionable diagnosis and bs recommendations. Even from doctors at Yale (speaking from personal experience).
And the most heartbreaking thing is that there are tens of thousands of LD kids who have no real advocates. They're basically thrown to the wolves.

As an Obama supporter who is married to a Clinton supporter, I really welcome her statement.
No, I don't want her to be VP. I can accept that change in politics is better done gradually, and I wouldn't want to toss out the baby with the bathwater, but Bill is a real narcissistic pain in the ass.
