Why is it that virtually all of the discussion concerning the democratic primary is focused on obama's faith and skin color? since the weekly debates ceased, the campaigns have gone low brow tabloid and it appears as if the blogs...more »

how can HRC's comment be construed as anything but a justification for staying in a race based on the possibility that a catastrophic event (such as murder) may knock Obama out and allow her to step into his shoes.
He comment was stupid and cold hearted, plain and simple.Posted at May 25, 2008 4:14 PM in response to Hillary Hits Critics For Taking Her RFK Assassination Remarks "Out Of Context"

Reed,
At least you have a team with a salary under control and a few wins under your belt. You also should recognize the benefits of having a player with a production level equal to or greater than the cost of his antics (although I happen to believe that Arenas is generally good for the game with his quirky behavior and willingness to give an opinion on issues other than basketball). I do agree that chemestry is important and your team is not championship quality but considering where your history, be happy. Try being a knick fan with a ridiculous payroll, long term contracts for overpaid, underachieving malcontents, with an owner who thinks he is a GM and is nothing more than a rich kid with less talent than the bottom rungs of fantasy league players. he also has no humility or judgment skills but I will save that for later.Came on to read a little political insight and read your post. I must have needed a bit of a venting session.

"elite" equals "educated and informed" based on Hillary's use of the word.
she is now advocating policy conceived by the uneducated and uninformed?
This joker get more insulting by the day.
When will it end?

speaking of the Clinton tax return, what could their justification be for filing for one? Lack of funds?

Was there a timeline or drop dead date for implementation under the Supreme Court decision. This type of blatant stonewalling should anger all including the sitting members of the Court.

my apologies. i have a tendency to write without editing. the comments above are nothing more than a general venting. As a whole, I've been reinvigorated by the overall interest in the primary and the involvement from individuals who have not participated in the past. thanks for your comments.

i could go on forever but i will keep it to the past twenty four hours. I found Bill Clinton's comments on a Hillary McCain general election as well as Carville's comments disturbing. Ferraro wrote an editortial in NYT a week or two ago concerning the super delegates which was blatantly patronizing and elitist. i could go on for a while on this one.

I agree although part of the problem is the two party system. These guys are defining the issues and then acting as if the party positions encompass all possible postitions. As an example, clinton and obama's postions on health care are very modest improvements from the existing sytem and are far from universal but no one is challenging them on this as they are "progressive. I wish the blogs would give him some more respect. I still think he has the ability to bring a broader perspective which may shed some light to the electorate.

thanks. not to use the cafe as a therapist's couch, but i needed a little reaffirmation. labels are meaningless. my next issue is trying to figure out why everything i hear coming from the mainstream media is disingenuous and/or offensive while everyone around me nod their heads and act as if nothing is wrong.

well put! I'm bracing for the next two weeks as HC does everything in her power to smear Obama despite the long term ramifications. I have always known HC was a self serving egomaniac but there was little consequence in the past. The impact of her current behavior is tangible. Let's all hope we survive the coming storm.
