What political capital?

I'm confused. True or not, this is relevant why exactly? If true, because it means Richardson changed his mind? Or because it suggests Richardson has just endorsed a candidate he thinks cannot win, pissing off the Clintons in the process, because we all know how much Richardson really wants to endorse a loser? Because Richardson is Judas, and Clinton is Christ, and Obama is Pontius Pilate, and we all know what happened to the Roman Empire! (Does this make Reverend Wright the Sanhendrin? The irony!)

Feith and others in this administration are the worst of the worst: With no personal experience of war, imprisonment or torture, they relish the opportunity to unleash cruelty on others, sinking to the same despicable level as the criminals and terrorists they seek to defeat. I'm ashamed of them. Guess that makes me an asshole who thinks moral, ethical and just behavior has value in this world.

I'm with D.C. How does she make this "most electable" argument without being laughed out of the room? If she loses the primaries, including the popular vote, is she still going to contend she's most electable, even though she's got huge negatives among independents?
My favorite argument is the Massachusetts argument, a la Lanny Davis: "She's so far ahead in Massachusetts. How can Obama win without Massachusetts?" As if Massachusetts is going to go with McCain if Obama's the nominee! Oh, please. When pigs fly.

Thanks, MJ, for a good post. It is absolutely amazing to me that, as you point out, arguments made every day in Israel cannot be made here because they do not toe the party line.

I think he's provided the returns to Chicago media over the years, but not published them together publicly for general access.

The Clinton camp is spinning this very well, but essentially this is a case of a do-over when you don't like the results. That is not how elections work, and it is a scary precedent. It also would completely undermine future, perhaps more well-thought-out attempts by the DNC to impose some order on the primary schedule. Clinton, like Obama, Edwards and the other nominees, agreed to the stupid idea to leave MI and FL in the cold. They could have done it differently and didn't. Now any arrangement will be skewed to favor one candidate or another, at least a little, and that is not how elections are supposed to be designed in this country.
Isn't it Clinton who liked to say, "Woulda, coulda, shoulda" to brush off mistakes? Well, I'd say that applies now.Posted at March 19, 2008 7:43 PM in response to Big Hillary Money-People Ready To Throw Weight Behind Michigan Primary

Hi John, You don't know me. I'm a Democrat. Well, was a Democrat. Then Hillary Clinton tore my party up into little pieces, did a race-baiting imitation of Karl Rove with highlights and told me to go eff myself. I don't suppose you'd consider getting tough on torture again, would you?

Geraldine Ferraro is a principal at Blank Rome Government Relations LLC. Let her company know how you feel at:
http://www.blankromegr.com/index.cfm?contentID=23
This is what I wrote:
I am appalled by the recent comments of one of your principals, Geraldine Ferraro, regarding the current Democratic campaign. Her comments seem purposefully designed to inflame racist sentiment and make racial prejudice an important element of this presidential race. She is an embarrassment to your organization. For the record: I am a white woman in my mid-forties. Please let her know I'm not attacking her "because [she's] white," but because her comments are offensive and, quite simply, dead wrong.
Sincerely ...

The price she's paying is not as high as the price that thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have paid.
