Have you ever...?
Have you ever written a post that has been completely misunderstood? That you wrote really badly? I did that earlier today. John Nail, stillidealistic, and haremoor were kind enough to respond. Those responses told me how poorly the post was...more »

Obama--A Liar? Treasonous?
I'm a military parent who was going to support Obama until I read that he's been lying about plans to bring our troops home. He's been telling the public that's what he'll do, but he's been secretly urging the Iraqi...more »

At the risk of breaking "the rules", I'm posting this a second time. I think that voters who may not have seen it have a right to know how Hillary is viewed in Iran. So many viewed her comments as...more »

From WA state--Women's Voices, Women Vote
We live in Washington state and my 17 year old daughter received a voter registration application from Women's Voices, Women Vote. She'd set it aside and we didn't really think too much about it until I read the articles yesterday. ...more »

I've always been puzzled why "family values" types hated Hillary as well as Bill after the Lewinsky affair. I found her loyalty admirable, especially in the face of such public humiliation. I gave her extra credit because I assumed that...more »

I think it's shame.
He knows that Obama is a good and decent man. He doesn't have the courage to attack him face to face.Posted at October 2, 2008 11:49 AM in response to Disrespect: Why Can't McCain Even Look At Obama?

Go to fda.gov to sign up for email alerts for all recalls. It can get annoying, but it's worth it. I've seen a huge increase in melamine related recalls recently.

THANK YOU TRUMANBABY! Finally, a person who actually read the post before commenting. Yes, it is a PRO-OBAMA post. I just wrote it very badly and a follow-up post to clarify didn't help. The point of the post is that the Taheri debunking isn't working and I'm worried that Obama will lose support if the story continues to snowball.
What I've learned from this post is that people comment from the gut instead of absorbing the intended message--that's why debunking is so unsuccessful. Simply telling someone they're wrong doesn't cut it. If I had been someone on the fence, nothing offered to me in any of the comments would have convinced me to go Obama's way.Posted at September 23, 2008 8:00 PM in response to Obama--A Liar? I know all that. You're not getting my post. My fault. I want you guys to get pissed off too. The debunking isn't working. And the reason it's not working is because even reporters don't know the issue, so they don't know how to prove the lie. Read the whole post.

In many states, you're not required to identify your race or ethnicity, so where are they getting their numbers when they identify the ratio of newly registered voters from a certain group?

To make it clear--I'm not saying Sadr has to be stopped---the current government wants his movement to end and so does ours.

In case you check back, it sounds like we're sort of thinking along the same lines. I'll go further though and make this prediction: Whatever SOFA and strategic framework comes out of the administration before the end of July will hinge in large part on Iraqi oil. I have a gut feeling that Cheney's last trip to Iraq had to do with those negotiations and the fact that the Bush/Cheney installed government wasn't playing ball in connection with Basra. Make deals with American companies or with the Iranians? Sadr forces have to be stopped because of his popularity and because he's a nationalist who will never support private deals. I've written before that I'm angry and sad that our kids are dying while back-door deals that may shame us forever are the reason they're still there. I hope I'm wrong.
