Check how many actual employees Costco has.  They have been busy creating subsidiaries who employ a large amount of those you see in the warehouses. Folks like the florists and the demonstration people are not Costco employees. No idea what the subs pay the employees, but Costco was using it to try and get around workers' comp.  Not exactly enlightened corporate behavior.
