OK, agreed. Verdict first, trial after. Let's hang 'em all at sundown. Seriously though - being a long-time operative is not meant as a defense of the individuals or their actions. What it does mean is that their motives are to stick around and continue working in Washington regardless of which D wins the next election. Now, the circumstantial case in this thread is mighty impressive, I grant you. How about calling it a "monumental" screwup, and I'll bow out.
